Kokichi's POV
"S-Sir Ouma, it is time for b-breakfast," a female voice called.
"I'll be down in a minute Toko," I sighed.
I looked out the window at the garden, black and white roses bloomed neatly in a line down the walkways. This was the kingdom of greed, black and white was a common color scheme here. I myself wore a white suit and black and white checkered scarf. The lady who just called me down for breakfast was Toko Fukawa, the castle's maid.
I got up and made my way down to the dining hall, Queen Celeste sat at the end of the table waiting for me patiently.
"Good morning," I sighed.
"Kokichi dear, you have been invited to the Hope Kingdom's ball tonight," she smiled.
"Why should I go?" I groaned, poking my food with a fork.
"It could be an amazing opportunity! The prince of Hope and Intelligence will be there as well as the princess of Despair. If you tried hard enough I know you get them to give you something valuable, something at a high price," she smirked.
"I don't want to though," I mumbled.
"Kokichi you're the prince of Greed! You know how many people would be grateful to be in your position, to get the chance to attend something as wonderful as this!" she yelled.
"Send Toko or Korekiyo then," I growled.
"S-Sir Ouma! I c-could never attend something a-as grand as that!" she said shocked, collecting the dishes.
"You will be going, I'll have Angie prepare you an outfit right away," Celeste smiled, walking away from the table.
This was stupid, I never wanted to be apart of the kingdom of greed anyways. I heard the other kingdoms had handsome princes but, I doubt they could ever like a liar such as myself. I picked up so many evil traits from being stuck in this hell hole, maybe I could learn something from the prince of Hope or Intelligence.
I made my way out the door, walking into the town. I was on my way to the kingdom of Intelligence where one of my closest friends, Shuichi Saihara. He was a quiet boy who had navy blue hair and golden eyes. He always had a hat on to cover his face whenever he got nervous, he wore mainly black so he wouldn't stand out as much. He was just a normal boy who lived in the town, now that I think about it I don't know much about the royal family in that kingdom. Maybe the ball would give me a chance to get to learn about their prince.
Soon I arrived at the front gates to the town, the guards greeted me and allowed me entrance. I walked to a near by park with a water fountain in the middle, a bench on the side near some blue flowers was Shuichi.
"Hey Shuichi!" I called, waving at him.
"H-Hello Ouma," he smiled, closing his book.
"I told you to call me Kokichi!" I teased.
"R-Right sorry," he laughed awkwardly.
"Guess what happened to little ol' me~" I whined.
"What happened?" he set his book beside him and laid down, my head in his lap.
"I got invited to the stupid ball that the Kingdom of Hope is having," I groaned,
"R-Really? I hope you have fun t-there," he smiled.
"I don't want to go~ I much rather spend the night with you!" I smiled.
"I-I think you should go, y-you might not g-get another chance like this," he blushed.
