Chapter 6: Enchanted

"Ehm" I averted my gaze unto the city and avoided eye contact with Kale.

"Well?" he prompts and I shrug again. "Tell me" he urges and I looked at him both shocked and surprised. "I only met you like three hours ago and you want me to tell you a big part of my life?" I didn't mean to be harsh, it was the truth after all.

"Your right" He looked away from me, he was hurt, that was for sure, and a bit offended? Ah crap. I seriously didnt take rejection and offending people easily.

"Im sorry" I say slightly touching his shoulder, unsure of what to do. He doesn't look at me, just only kept looking at the beautiful city. "Its just, its a really big part of me and it really messed me up when we broke up. But hey, we wouldn't be here if it weren't for him right?" I tried to ease up the mood and he finally faced me. Bingo

"True" he chuckles and I give him a warm smile. "Will you ever tell me?" he asks after a while and I hesitated. He was a stranger, someone I didn't know. Yet I felt that I could trust him. I could only nod and a grin made its way to the corner of his lips.

Soon enough we were staring at the city again, admiring the view. Somewhere there, his hand crept up to mine and he laced his fingers through them. He looked at me, as if expecting some sort of emotional feedback, but I kept my gaze on the city. "Do you.....do you wanna dance?" He asks nervously, I could feel it in his voice. I couldn't find my voice, I only looked at him and nodded.

He pulled me up from the bench and took out his phone. I wondered what he was doing until a tune of a guitar being strummed began to play. "Cant dance without music right?" he joked and I could only shake my head in amusement.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and kept a respectful distance and I nervously wrapped mine around his neck.

There I was again tonight. Forcing laughter, faking smiles. Same old tired lonely place....

Wall of insincerity, shifting eyes and vacancy vanished when I saw your face...

All I can say is it was Enchanting to meet you..

Your eyes whispered "Have we met?"
Across the room your silhouette, starts to make it way to me..
The playful conversation starts, counter all your quick remarks like, passing notes in secrecy.

And it was enchanting to meet you. All I could say is I was enchanted to meet you..

I recognized the song. Enchanted by Taylor Swift. "Didn't know you were a swiftie" I teased and he chuckles before slightly becoming serious again. He clears his throat before speaking. "M- my ex liked Taylor's songs. I kinda downloaded all her albums because of her" he seemed broken. I felt guilty for making my comment. "Im sorry, I didn't know it was a secret or anything" I tried apologize but he cut me off. "Its okay, its not really a secret. I just kinda felt that a really big part of me was taken away when she- when she broke up with me. Kinda like you" he smiles at me reassuringly and I smile back and we both quietly sway to the music.

This night is sparkling, dont you let it go. Im wonderstruck, blushing all the way home. Ill spend forever wondering if you knew, I was enchanted to meet you..

"Will you ever get back with him? your ex I mean" Kale asks after he successfully twirls me. I burst out in giggle as he does. "No, I guess not" I say my head feeling a bit fuzzy.

The lingering questing kept me up. 2 AM who do you love? I wonder 'till Im wide awake. And now Im pacing back and forth, wishing you were at my door, Id open up and you would say "Hey, it was enchanting to meet you. All I know is I was enchanted to meet you"

"Do you think they're having fun down there?" I ask, quietly playing with the hair at the nape of his neck. "I don't know about them, but Im sure as hell Im having fun without them" he muses and I giggle.

How did it come to this? Me dancing with a stranger I only met not long ago, being kissed twice by him and I still didn't run away. This must be a miracle.

This is me praying that this is the very first page. Not where the story line ends. My thoughts will echo your name until I see you again. These are the words I held back, as I was leaving too soon. I was enchanted to meet you...

He pulls me a bit closer. I let him

"I need to tell you something" Kale says in an excited whisper. "What is it" I whisper back, matching his tone. He looks at me, directly into my eyes.

"I think Im starting to fall in love with you"
