3 more days. 3 more days to go and you were no longer going to be Miss Sol.
You were going to be Mrs.Jeon Jungkook.
~~Flashback to a month ago~~
"Mom, please...listen to me just this once. I really love him." you cried.
"You ungrateful bitch. I raise you for so many years without your father and this is how you choose to repay me? By fucking dating this Jonghyun fellow and bringing dishonor upon our family name. And the fact that you've been hiding it all along. You deserve to die for this." she slapped you across your face for the third time.
"Mom please...I've always got good grades, I've always listened to you. Just this once, I wanted to do something that makes me genuinely happy. Just this once I-"
"Can't you see, you stupid girl? I will go to any lengths to make you break up with him. You need to choose-him or me?? But remember, if you choose him, you'll have to get ready for my funeral tomorrow morning." she threatened.
You knew your mom. She never joked. She meant every single word she said.
If you chose Jonghyun now, your mom would simply end her life and everyone would blame you. People in your family already thought you were responsible for the separation of your mom and dad. You had to make a decision and it had to be quick.
"See, you have to think so much, don't you?? I guess I'll just put an end to my life then", your mom got up from her chair.
"Mom please, I-I'll break up with Jonghyun. I promise I'll end things with him and marry the guy you've chosen for me. Please don't do anything stupid...please..." you were literally on your knees now.
"Fine...Promise me you will marry Jeon Jungkook then. He is a nice boy from a rich family. Break up with this Jonghyun fellow as soon as possible. I'm giving you a week's time." she said and walked off into her room, leaving you sobbing on the floor.
You'd waited for a month after that until the wedding cards were printed and decided you would just have to show that to Jonghyun.
And as promised to your mom, you'd broken up with him after that.
~~END OF FLASHBACK~~
"Miss Sol?" a voice called out.
"Yes, that's me." you put on a fake smile.
"Your bridal dress is ready. Thank you for shopping with us." the saleswoman smiled and passed on a bag to you.
You took it from her and got into your car and placed it on the seat beside you.
You hesitated for a minute, put your hand in and took the dress out to have a better look.
It was a pretty dress, but not the dress you had in mind.
You'd always dreamt of wearing a wedding dress and standing next to Jonghyun, with a pretty smile.
It was a perfect dress you'd dreamt of.
A perfect wedding. A perfect life.
Guess some things just don't turn out the way you want it to.
When you were in 8th grade, you'd read a book called 'Great Expectations' by Charles Dickens. You'd learnt that great expectations would do nothing but hurt you in the end.
You'd lived by this rule all your life but it changed after meeting Jonghyun.
You felt you could expect things. Happy things.
