Third Shot: Second Chance

"Wala ka ba talagang idea kung kanino galing ang mga ito?" Toni asked.

I shrugged. "Kaya nga secret admirer eh! 'Wag kang excited! Baka ma-spoil yung magic!" I said in a sarcastic way.

She rolled her eyes at me but I just laughed at her. Bruha talaga.

"Maiwan na kita diyan, I have things to finish nga pala," paalam ko.

"Sige lang, layas na!" she answered.

"Walang manners sa manager ah!" pabiro kong saad.

Nagtawanan nalang kami at iniwan ko na si Toni sa front desk. I need to give some reports to Ms. Nadia or I'll be screwed!

I went to my office and grabbed all the necessary documents when someone called me.

"Ma'am Fritz?"

Nilingon ko ito, "Yes, Niella?"

"Kailangan po kayo sa diner for a complaint," she said.

Again?

"What happened?" I asked while checking the folders.

Niella was a bit flustered. This is her third complainant this week. Tungkol saan naman kaya ngayon?

Tumugon ako sa complainant na tinutukoy ni Niella and saw a familiar person from behind.

Oh great Lord! What the hell is this jerk doing here?!

I gathered all my composure then smiled at them, "Good day! Is there anything I could help you with?"

I saw an evil grin on Clark's face which made me cringe. This toxic jerk!

"Your server gave us the wrong order--"

"Sir, iyan po talaga yung order niyo," Niella interrupted.

I immediately grabbed her hand and send her away, "Niella, doon ka muna sa kitchen. I'll handle this."

"We apologize for the inconvenience, sir. Rest assured that a new server will give you service based on your preference."

I then called another server to cater their needs and excused myself.

"Fritz! Wait!"

When I was about to take a step, Clark caught me up. I took a deep breath and faced him.

"Do you have concerns, sir?" I asked then gave him a smile.

"Aray naman! Parang wala tayong pinagsamahan ah!" he said mischievously.

I took the guts and rolled my eyes on him. Ang kapal talaga ng mukha niya. It's been three months and he looks okay.

"I'm quite busy, sir. So if you don't mind, please go back to your table and have a nice meal," I told him politely.

But I really want to punch him on his face!

I heard his annoying laugh but I didn't bother looking back. I made my way to the staff's lounge and made some warnings.

"Sir Chase? Ms. Nadia---?"

"Good. Because I fired him," rinig kong sabi ni Sir Chase.

"Dahil ba sa kapalpakan ko?" Ms. Nadia asked.

"No, it was intentional, Nadia. It's wrong to even hire him to be part of this hotel. It was a scheme to eliminate him. And it's reasonable kasi ayoko sa competition," he said.

I covered my mouth while eyes wide opened.

I have been noticing how Sir Chase treats Ms. Nadia but I never thought he would confess like this!

I decided to let them so I went to the elevator while holding some folders. When I pressed the button to Ms. Nadia's office, bigla akong nanlambot.

I recalled every moment I spent with that guy. And thinking all those years, I realized kung gaano ako ka-tanga para ubusin ang sarili ko sa tulad nya.

He's a guy with a lot of issues in life. And for eight freaking years I spent with him, I decided to end it three months ago.

I thought if I endured everything about him, he will change but.. I was wrong. It's hard to fix someone who doesn't want to be fixed.

"Mabuti pa sina Toni and Ms. Nadia," I told myself.

"Loko! When you find your match, ikaw naman ang tatawanan ko!" Chase said.

I just laughed at him that time. It will never happen. I have every girl at my disposal...

Pero mukhang kinakain ko na yung sinabi ko because of this girl. Fritz Morales.

She's not my ideal type because she's too prim and proper but my perspective about her changed a year ago. When I saw her under the rain, crying.

Since that day, I would visit my best friend's hotel as an excuse to see her.

Everyday akong nanggugulo para walang makahalata. And the day I was waiting for came.

She's finally single!

I saw her in the elevator and the door was about to close when I ran towards it. Napigilan ko naman ito sa pagsara kaya pumasok ako sa loob and saw how surprised she was.

I smiled. This is my chance!

My heart skipped a beat the moment he stepped inside the elevator.

I get that he has the looks and charms, but beware... He's quite dangerous.

I didn't mind him and held my folders tight. He then let out a deep breath as he pushed the emergency button stopping the elevator.

"Sir?" I said, quite irritated.

He walked towards me and put his right arm against the wall, cornering me. "So, single ka na pala?"

My eyes widened but I didn't answer. He gave me a smile then went closer, "May chance na ba ako sa'yo?"

Marahan ko itong naitulak but he didn't stumble.

"W-what the hell are you talking about?!" irita kong sabi.

"Come on, Fritz... I've been holding in this feeling for a year. And it's not a joke for a guy like me," he said which let me bite my lower lip.

One year? B-But how...

"What do you mean, a year?" naguguluhan kong tanong.

He looked at me with eyes full of frustration.

"It's insane! But I've liked you ever since the day I saw you crying under the rain! I want to see you smile and I want it to be with me. So, can I be the man to make you happy now?"

Saw me crying under the rain? That's when I gave Clark his final chance...

"Come on Fritz, please give me my chance..." he said.
