Stepping Back

It's been 2 weeks since the party. I took maggies advice and took a step away from edwin and the guys but also from noah. I've been focusing on my song writing and actually wrote a couple of songs that I really love. It has helped keep my mind of things, but I can't help the fact that I keep thinking about edwin, and I wonder if he's thinking about me too.
I pick up my guitar and start playing a song that I wrote, maggie walks over to me holding a cup of tea and sits next to me on the sofa.

Maggie: keep going I want to hear it

Y/n: okay I haven't completely finished it but here goes

*sing about you now*

Maggie looks at me in aww

Maggie: wow it's amazing! who's it about

she smirks at me, and i look away she clearly knows

Maggie: tell me!!

she says grabbing my guitar

my phone goes off with 5 notifications all at once, I grab it, it's my friend from New York, Vanessa

The text reads 'is this Noah?' followed with a video of him getting with a girl who looks like a supermodel, the following texts read 'have you guys broken up' 'if not i'll kick his butt' 'sorry girl i had to tell you, i hope you'd rather know, love and miss you'

I gasp

Maggie: whattt?

she says leaning over my shoulder to look at my phone

Maggie: oh my god!! are you okay?

she says turning to me

Y/n: actually i am, seeing this just proves I don't have any feelings for him. like I'm angry hes doing this while I've been staying mostly loyal except that one slip up oops. I just need to phone him now and finish it

Maggie: yes girl, we love a strong queen

I phone noah, I don't get mad i just explain my situation and how I'm feeling and he explains his. It's actually quite a pain free break up.

Maggie: soooo this means...

she nudges my shoulder

Y/n: no not yet, I need time plus, I don't want him to feel like a rebound / second best

Maggie: yeh I understand, well I'm going over to bs tonight you wanna come?

Y/n: yeh maybe, I'll text edwin though to see if it's okay, maybe I can finish that song we're recording

maggie: sounds great!

I write
'hey it's been a while, maggies coming over to see b tonight, and I was wondering if it was okay if I could come too? I miss you guys a lot. maybe if you want we could finish recording your song'
I click send

Y/n: also do you mind not telling the guys I've finished with noah, I'd rather tell edwin in my own time

maggie: of course

my phone pings, it's a text back from edwin
'of course, you're welcome anytime. it's on your part, whatever you feel comfortable with. I'd love to finish the song, I was scared you wouldn't want to and I was gonna have to find another sick voice'

I send a smiley face back, I've missed him even just as a friend.
