She stood there, gripping the knife in her hand. Who the hell was here? Kassie asked herself, seeing as the darkened figure wandered into the kitchen, the slight glint of metal coming off an object inside of his hands. A gun. Oh come on. She thought, crouching down and putting her back to the wall of the island. Her heart going mad as the adrenaline rushed through her. What would happen if she ran? Kassie had thoughts racing through her head as she heard the most creepiest voice and most chilling finally speak up.
"Where are you little girl?"
The voice announced. It was a man's voice, going to guess around his 20's, it sounded like the voice of a psychopath. It sent a cold chill down Kassie's spine, making the thought processes she was having and turning them into preparation, if she needed to use the knife then she would. The voice of the man was closer this time, around the corner close. That wasn't good.
"I know your hiding, you should be afraid. Have your parents told you anything?"
He spoke, mainly addressing it to her, but how did he know her parents? Why was he after her? This must be some kind of sick joke for sure. Kassie started to control her breathing, although her heart protested by the way it was going right now. She noticed that the voice came from her left, then shuffling around the right hand corner. Now. Kassie thought to herself, darting for the front door of her home, then feeling a cold hand on her shoulder as she was flung back into the wall.
"Your not getting away that easily, I have questions."
The man snarled, then something orange lit up in her blurred vision.
Ever since the bombing, or what was presumed to be a bombing, happened in America a lot of things that are weird have happened to her. This being one of them, was this what her parents were keeping from her? The questions? Did they think that hiding her would keep her safe? Oh she sensed bull. Kassie's eyes adjusted, then looking up to feel some kind of heat next to her face, her eyes widened at the sight. Was that man holding fire inside of his hands?! Okay, now what, she now is being faced with a psycopath that can hold fire in his hands with no way of even knowing how he did get fire from. She really hoped the house wasn't on fire.
"Now, pretty girl. Tell me where the amulet is. Or else this lovely house might accidentally burn down."
He spat at her, his words venomous to the touch. What the hell is this amulet?
"I don't know what your talking about."
Kassie snapped back, she wasn't going down this easy, by this time, her hands had been tied to the column in the middle of the room. It wasn't that comfortable, he must've tied her up when her eyes were blurry and couldn't feel anything.
"You don't want to be talking to me like that gi-"
He was interrupted, she watched as some sort of fireball had come flying into his face, scorching the skin on first impact. The man screeched, falling back into the island, hitting his back against the wall of it. Kassie looked over at the direction of where it came from, her eyes widening a bit more as she saw a man standing in the doorway, having that he was wielding fire as well as the man had earlier. This was starting to mess with her head, making her feel dizzy in a way. She stood up, her legs feeling like jelly. Everything was a blur as she felt like she was falling, seeing as the fire went out and the same man that threw the fireball darting toward her as her world was enveloped into darkness.
