It was a cold and stormy night in Runcorn, or as people (or just children) liked to call it, runcone. Nothing much happened in this town, it was unpopulated and quiet. But at the very same time; it was busy and lively. Kassie Green was sitting on her bed, just playing a game on her phone as she relaxed. The girl had crystal brown hair with silver eyes, along with having freckles that were mainly around her cheeks.

"Cassie?" Her mother, Clase Green, hollered down from the bottom of the stairs. She was truly a lovely woman when she wanted to be, but you DON'T and I mean don't when I mean it. Get into any ANY trouble with her, because she was hit you like a ton of bricks. Litterally.

"Yes?" Kassie called back down, hopping off her bed and walking to the top of the stairs.

"Dinners ready dear."

God she hated when she was called 'dear'. It was one of the things that made her feel like she was old somehow, but she wasn't that worried about that. For the past few weeks her parents had been keeping something from her. Like it was something big. Something bad of some kind, hand Kassie was determined to find out what it was. Wich meant for her to investigate when her parents went out for the evening. That was her plan, and she was sticking with it.

Dinner was normal. Except  for the exception of silence that filled the room, the only sounds being the TV blaring on and the scraping of the cutlery on the plates. Doing their job. Kassie hated the amount of silence that was going o in the room. It was painful and impatient, crawling at her every second of it. Now she was going to end her own, or anyone else's, suffering.

"I feel like your hiding something from me." She spoke, her voice a bit quiet but soft at the same time.

"What? Why would we be hiding something from you? Why would we ever do that? Kas, tell me." Her dad said spontaneously and fast. That right there was her proof, all she needed to start her investigation tomorrow when they went out.

"Well maybe because of your reaction to you saying that. And the fact that you haven't been acting normal! Whats this thing about the fact that I cant go to sleepovers because it's 'for my own good?! Cut the crap already!" Kassie shouted, slamming her hand onto the table. Oh great. Where did that rage come from? Why did she not stop herself- or couldn't stop herself in fact! And now she was probably going to get sent to her room or something like that.

"Kassie. Go to your room. You should never raise your voice at your parents! Do you understand?! And stop acting like your the victim when you started it!" Her father shouted, pointing toward the stairs that were just a few meters away. Now she had done it. Her father had never shouted at her once, she always did something right or was just asking a question but now, now she had made him snap.
Kassie slowly got up, nodding as she did so. Then, she started to walk toward the stairs, running up them and to her room, tears in her eyes. Great. They probably won't leave tomorrow now because of her dumb decision. As soon as she reached her room, she walked into it and slammed the door, making the room shake a little as she jumped onto her bed.  Sometimes she just couldn't stand adults, thinking that they have the right to shout at children but then the children dont have the right to actually talk back. Nevermind that anyway, tomorrow would be a new day. A new, interesting day.
