Tryouts

Y'all ready for some serious Sass coming from our girl Megan?

After my enlightening conversation with Charlie, I texted Tom to tell him to pick me up later in the day.

Oh my gosh. This was it.

I was trying out for the Cheerleading team.

I tried to convince Taylor to join me but she said she couldn't even touch her toes. Huh. Kinda like Tom. XD

By the end of the 8th hour, I was a mess. A terrified mess! But...I was super excited to finally show Lacey I don't back down from a challenge.

I quickly headed to the girl's locker room, where they had t-shirts and shorts for us to wear. The shirt was Yellow, and the shorts were navy blue with white stripes on the seams. One of the captains smiled as she was handing out pom-poms to everyone,

"Alright, Ladies! You look great!" said, what I believe was the Senior Captain. The main judge I guess. She was beautiful. She had long blonde hair, that was curly to the waist. She looked so much like...Lacey! And just as expected, Lacey appeared next to her, giving her a hug.

"Hey Sis!" the girl said laughing, "How many girls, did ya bring?"

Lacey smiled proudly around, she clearly hadn't seen me yet, "Probably 15-ish."

I turned my head and tied up my hair into a mid-pony. I grabbed my pom-poms and went over the simple routine they handed out when I first got there. What I didn't know, was that we would have to do it by ourselves. Oh boy.

Carsons POV (Just for a little)

The only reason I was at the stupid Cheerleading tryouts was that Lacey insisted on me being there. She can be...very demanding sometimes. But I still love her. After waiting for maybe 30 minutes, they all came out of the locker room. Lacey came first, with her sister Brooke. Who was the Senior Captain? Is that what they are called? I don't know these things.

One by one, they all performed a little cheer. They would call the school's name and do the classical "Go Blue Jays! GO!"

"Okay, now the last freshman and tryout of the day," said Brooke, "Megan Holland?"

Megan! Okay, that one surprised me. When I first met Megan, she did not come across as a Cheerleader type, she seemed really quiet and reserved. But, good for her!

Hopefully, Lace hasn't been too hard on her. She never does well with new kids. Unfortunately. Megan is a nice girl! I prayed she did well, cause I think she'd do great, to be honest!

Megan's POV (Back to normal)

Deep breaths Meg, you got his

Was I scared...absolutely. ESPECIALLY  when I saw Carson up in the stands. Luckily I had a trick up my sleeve, just in case, Lacey pulled anything.

"Alright, ready Hon?" asked Brooke. She was SO nice! Unlike her sister.

I nodded and began, doing the same exact things as everyone else. However, I did see Lacey whisper something into Brooke's ear...oh Lord.

After I had finished, Brooke looked up from her clipboard and smiled. "So, that was really good, but I don't think you're ready yet."

Okay. No. Lacey did this on purpose. Ugh. Time to fight back a little, I guess.

"Can I ask what you mean by "Not ready"?" I asked, trying to not sound heart-broken.

Brooke looked back up at me, smiling. "Well-"

Lacey butted in, "You just don't have the body or talent! In other words, you sucked!"

Brooke frowned a little at her sister, which surprised, "No Lac-"

I ignored Brooke and walked straight up to Lacey, "You invited me! Whats your problem with me!"

Carson POV (I needed to write something funny)

HOLY CRAP. MEGAN IS GOING OFF! Is it bad I was secretly cheering for her?

Megan's POV (Okay sorry)

"Also," I continued, stepping closer to Lacey, "You're not even in charge of picking who goes on the team or not! I wasn't asking for your opinion, because honestly, yours would be trash!"

Lacey frowned, "Fine. Prove you can be on the team."

Secret weapon. Oh god.

"Fine, I will."

I went back to the center in front of Brooke, who instantly frowned and whispered something into Lacey's ear, making her look mad.

I remembered what Tom taught me. Arms folded, legs apart, take a deep breath in and-

With all the force within my small frame, I did a double flip and landed with a back handspring.

I flattened my shorts and faced Brooke, who smiled proudly. "Welcome to the Blue Jays Cheerleading team!"

I feel like this chapter was cringy.

Was it cringy...idk
