Kate's POV
I woke up to the eerie gale of the wind in the morning. I was surprised to see a sudden change in the weather. Then I remembered we were on a ship and things like this are expected. It was perfectly normal my mind rationalized but my gut couldn't have been louder, screeching like the emergency sirens.
The day went on as gloomy as the weather. The weather forecast said that a storm was fast approaching but there was a possibility that it could get blown off. The crew tried their best to distract us. The games room was bustling with people where the crew had put out last minute entertainment and were encouraging all of us to take part.
Leo was being very apprehensive. He couldn't keep still. He was pacing on and about. It looked like the weather change had taken a toll on him. I could see the knot forming in between his eyebrows and his own mini storm brewing in his eyes.
I tried to reason with him, but he kept saying that I wouldn't understand. He continued to pace and fume quietly with his nostrils flaring every now and then.
Tired of arguing with him and also being physically tired after last night's gig, I ended up sleeping.
Late evening I woke up to hear the loud howling wind. It was raining cats and dogs. Leo wasn't in the suite. I tried to venture out quickly but water from somewhere had seeped in to the alleys of our suites. Wading in the water which almost was knee deep, I finally reached the deck.
That's when I realized how bad the sight was. The storm seemed inevitable. The sounds of the loud lashing rain, the thunder and the ear piercing howling of the wind was too much to bear. Our wing which was on the eastern side was the worse affected of all because some brilliant genius had forgotten to close the deck doors leading towards our side.
Great.
I was frantic, I couldn't even run around to look for Leo. Wading in this water was obviously slowing me down and the people, Ugh, couldn't they move already. I couldn't find Leo anywhere. And I was nowhere close to finding him.
Where was he?
