First off, I hope you all enjoy this fanfiction. There will be violence and some mentions of abuse since this starts from Kayla's early teenage years thanks for reading
The alarm clock rang loudly in Kayla's ears. She turned groggily to face it. '6:30am' it read and Kayla groaned slamming her fist down onto it to shut it up. She lay there on her cheap mattress and single dirty pillow for a good 15 minuets thinking to herself. Her thoughts were soon interrupted by a harsh, loud, booming voice.
"Kayla!! Get your fucking arse down here you useless piece of crap!!" was the harming voice of her father, Kevin, forcing her to hesitantly crawl out of bed and reluctantly walk down the stairs of her family home and into the kitchen.
"About damn time." her father said as she made herself a small bowl of cheerios with sour, out of date milk. A few spoonfuls was all that she needed to satisfy her tiny hunger. She ran back up the stairs and into her room, as if Satan himself was at her heels, slamming the door shut loudly behind her. She was finally alone and able to change.
Her green and black school uniform stared her in the face. It was grubby and disgusting having not been washed since the previous month. She lifted it up and sighed getting dressed into it and sitting at her vanity table once again. "Hello there sweetheart... " she sighed as she looked at her reflection. Her swollen lip still exposed to the world and her newly formed black eye just as obvious. She had no makeup to hide this... It would just be another day of lies. She sighed and steadily began combing the knots and luggs out of her hair. The brunette river ending just below her lower back, she clipped her bangs to the side.
The honking of the school buses horn alarmed her to attention. She grabbed her books and back in a hurry and ran down the stairs, jumping onto the large vehicle as it was about to speed off. She sat down next to her twin brother Gary. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders, whispering in her ear, "It'll be better today.. Trust me." Kayla gave Gary a brief smile and looked to the ground. Maybe things would be better...
