"Cheers love!" Bobby laughed as Kayla handed him his bag full of presents and his card. She blushed slightly and nodded at him "Your welcome Bobby. You are my best friend afterall " she giggled and punched him playfully in his arm earning a deep but obvious chuckle.
It was Christmas day and the boss, Matt Miller, was throwing a party in decker HQ for all of his crew. Not wanting to look too over dressed, Kayla turned up in skinny black jeans, the same electric blue converse that she had run away with, and a neon blue crop top that hung just above her belly button, showing off her black and silver belly bar. She topped off her look with a stylish, studded, leather jacket. Bobby was dressed similar only he was dressed completely in black.
After exchanging gifts with eachother, Bobby and Kayla sat in two beanbags, isolated from the rest of the party, and chatted with eachother whilst drinking the provided alcohol for a few hours.
What seemed out of nowhere, a large flat screen TV descended from the large ceiling of the Burns Hill Reactor with Matt Miller on screen announcing that it was time for karaoke and that every Decker Specialist was expected to sing and impress everyone. On hearing this, Kayla rubbed her temple's and leaned back into the bean bag trying desperately to cover her face. The que for the karaoke was going in alphabetical order, staring with Allyssa the sluttiest of all tge specialists. 'Perfect!' Kayla thought, her eyes shining 'This gives me time to get out of here before it is my turn!' she secretly smiled to herself and scanned the room for a way out without being noticed.
"Next up...." Matt said slowly "Kayla Smith! Come up here love!" Surely she hadn't spent that long looking for a way out.... Had she? Hesitantly, she walked up to the N.E.M.O chair where the karaoke was set up and stood next to Matt with her face to the ground. "Come now love, don't be shy!" he laughed and Kayla blushed deeply. "Your singing ' When you Believe' by Mariah and Whitney!" Kayla nodded shyly and looked up as the microphone was shoved into her hands and Matt walked away. She heard the music starting and looked out into the crowd to see Bobby smiling at her and nodding. She took a deep breath and began...

You will when you... Believe..." Kayla sung the entire song in a soft but high voice, not once taking her eyes off of her bestfriend.
"Well, I must say Miss Smith, your voice is remarkable! Definitely the best I've heard all day!" her boss stated winking at her. He dismissed her off the stage, the whole HQ clapping, whistling and cheering for her. Well, most of them. The feeling was new to her as she ran to her bestfriend and hugged him tight, she smiled. She smiled the biggest smile that she had in a long time.
