Marinette's POV ఌ

On my small break from class I was outside, drawing some ideas for my next designs to wear at the schools 50th anniversary. It's gonna be so big and amazing, all the famous in Paris will arrive such as the Mayor, Jagged, and even Mr.agreste. Even... Adrien was sponsored, but that won't stop me from g-.

"Hm?" I flinched at the sudden touch of something patting my shoulder. "H-hey! Um... marinette. It's adrien, and it's been a while since we've actually like talked without arguing. I don't ask for your forgiveness, but I do ask that we can chat just for a while." I didn't even turn my head to know that it was adrien, I just sat in my seat frozen but agreed with a nod. As he sat beside me a scotched over turning my head the other side.

"Look.. I know you hate me, but I want you to know I never was in love with kagami. Sure she gave me memories and is a great friend, but I never connected with her like that. If that's what y-." I interrupted him with a sad look turning my gaze towards him. "Adrien I'm sorry but let me have my word now. The past few months I've treated you like a bad friend and I know that it was none of my business who you liked or not, but I was still IN LOVE with you and whenever I saw you it just reminded me of my own jealousy. I'm sorry okay? For not knowing how to act like a normal person and always run away from my problems. You were my obsession and dream since I was 14, and now that we're here it's different...." I held my shoulder looking down feeling a tear drop fall down.

"I understand Marinette, just know.. I've always loved you." Adrien went in for a hug, me not knowing how to respond it took me a minute to hug back and sigh in complete happiness. When he broke it, I've noticed him trying to lean his face towards mine. I blushed, but stopped him before he could.... you know. "Huh?" Adrien seemed confused on why I'd stop all a sudden after he had explained. Little did he know, my heart had already belong to someone else. "Adrien you're amazing, and I'll never stop loving you as a friend. But I- I'm with Luka and you deserve someone better to care for you. What do you say... friends?" I gave my hand out for him to shake.

His face that was filled with disappointment turned into a sly smirk. I gasped in shock when he kissed the side of my face and whispered in my ear "friends marinette." He got up and went out to his ride, escorting him from school early while I still sat on the bench until the bell for last period had rung.

6 hours later

"Are you ready marinette? We're going to be late for the- woah--." Alya stopped mid sentence as I finally came out of the locker room fixing and changing into my dress. "I hope I didn't do too much alya, do you think I'm overdoing this?" I asked lifting the rim of my red dress by a ted then fixed it, looking at my hair that was into a bun. "What?? Of course! Marinette Dupain-Cheng Luka is absolutely going to be head over heels over you when he sees you at the celebration! Now come on, no time to waste." Alya yanked me out as she ran, followed by juleka, alix, and rose all getting ready at the last minute.

When I arrived, everything was set up so neatly and everyone had dressed up in the most exquisite ways. "Marinette!" I turned at the sound of my name, seeing that it was luka. I smiled brightly cupping his face. "Luka, Im glad you came! Are you sure your moms gonna be alright alone?" I asks with a frown as he held my hand into his broad warm one. "She's holding off, I was gonna stay with her but she suggested I came and by her words "go with that beautiful girlfriend of yours and make me even more happy knowing my son has found his true melody."." I blushed red, hoping it wasn't obvious after hearing what luka said. I looked up at him leaning my face towards him but stopped halfway by the interruption of the news reporter who had introduced all the vips to the event.

When I saw adrien, I couldn't help but smile knowing I'm happy me and him are friends once again. "Well get back to that." Luka winked, making me crumble in my own words before he grabbed my hand and brought me over to the dance floor. Jaggeds sweet tunes had everyone going bizarre, I saw alya kicking it with nino, juleka actually dancing with rose in the most goofiest manner, and so much more. Leaving me with Luka who I twist and twirled around with, I turned around backing it up on him a bit as his mouth went down to my neck. What was I doing? I can't possibly do this in public- but I was just losing it! I've never had this much fun with the boy I never thought I'd fall this hard for in a million years.

After Jaggeds song was finally over, he went onto some slower tunes giving all the couples and love birds a chance to settle down. I turned to see how alya had been stalking me with her slick smile. Gesturing me to go in for a kiss with him, I just responded with an eye roll and continued to rest my head on Lukas chest as we waltzed.

"If I hadn't listened to my mom, I wouldn't be here to experience a beautiful moment like this. I'll never forget about this marinette." Luka had gently stated, breaking the closure between us to look down at me with nothing but love. As I was about to respond, a small gasp escaped when I saw adrien with someone who looked as identical at me near the snack stand. "Marinette is everything okay?" Luka turned to see what I was looking at, knowing it was probably adrien but confused at the sight of someone else who looked identical to me.

"Hold on my love, there's something I need to know I'm sorry." I broke away from him with a forgiving kiss to assure him, walking over to adrien. "Adrien-- wHO is this?" It seemed skeptical to me that it was an akumatized citizen, but why?. "Oh marinette! This is bridgette, she says she had just moved to this school and-." Bridgette stopped adrien mid sentence. "Marinette? It's you! I've been looking all over the school seeing if you were actually here like your parents said!" She had such a happy yet high pitched voice, it took me a minute that it was my cousin my parents had always been talking about yet I've never seen till now.

"It's so good to see you bridgette! I hope this night would be the most amazing for you I uh-." Luka calling my name from behind and catching up, he set a hand on my shoulder confused on why there was someone identical to me most likely. "Luka meet bridgette! This is my cousin I've been talking about and she's here to stay at school with me, this is my first time seeing her since I was only a little baby but I know for a fact she's amazing, you'll love her!" I gestured a hand introducing Bridgette to Luka, seeing the two of them handshake with welcoming smiles.

"I see you're having fun with someone this night too adrien, treat her well." Luka winked at him, seeing his face flush red but he shook and thought of a another friend excuse to say as Luka brought me back to the dance floor for another slow dance. I enjoyed it very much, as he was my world and I could only act myself whenever I'm around him.

And no one could ever replace him ❤︎
