"Are you sure?"

She laughed.  "It's too late now if I am!"

"It's never too late," he said, stroking her hair.

"Well it wasn't for us," she said.

She watched him go on stage to the scream of the crowd. It was his second last show, here in Mexico City.  They had spent the day reading the various reports of the scene in the hotel lobby.  Some of them had them in stitches, some made them cringe and just shake their head.  The fans were going crazy wondering what was the truth and examining every photo over the past few months for a clue.  To put them out of their misery, Shawn posted one of the wedding photos Gina took with his camera onto his Instagram, with a red heart and the "couple holding hands" emojis as caption, and Camila posted a snippet of video from the award show, in slow motion, on her Instagram story that showed, just for a second, both their hands and their rings.

Toward the end of Shawn's set, he sat at the piano and played a medley of their songs, then stood up and collected his guitar, playing the opening bars of Senorita just as she walked out.  She strolled toward him and he smiled at her, that special smile that he had always kept just for her, and they couldn't break eye contact for the entire song.  This is how it had started for them, singing to each other, the electricity, the chemistry that ignited between them.  And yet, it had always been more than that.  They had been friends, soulmates, partners and collaborators.  They had supported each other through everything, even when it seemed no-one else did. She always knew he understood her, that he really knew her, and he felt the same way about her.  Even when they had been with other people, it had been the same.  Even when they had been at odds with each other, when they had fought or had creative differences, when the fire had threatened to burn them, it had never changed.  That night, when they had finally given in.....it still gave her thrill from her heart to her soul to think of it.  They could no sooner have not made love that night in the car than they could have stopped breathing.  She didn't regret it for one moment.  And sure, they were young, they'd made mistakes in their fledgling marriage already, but they had learned from them.  He certainly would not be leaving her alone for that long at a time when she went on her tour, that was for sure.  She had always looked forward to her life, to the adventure of it and the excitement of the unknown that awaited, even though it often brought her great anxiety, but now she had someone to really share it with.  Her lover, her best friend, her partner, and now her husband.  She could see the love in his eyes and as she sang, he mouthed the words to her - "I love you" - for only her to see.

The crowd was so loud he could barely hear himself sing, even through the in-ears, and when they reached the end, Camila reached up and he bent down, just as they had planned, but really it was so natural and they just wanted to show everyone, especially the fans that had supported them, that they were real, this was no stunt, this was them, and they kissed, a long passionate kiss that sent the crowd into a frenzy.  Then she pulled back, and they held hands as she walked away, until only their fingers were touching.  When Shawn let go, she waved to the crowd, slowly walking backwards off the stage, as he spoke into the mic, his heart thumping with love and pride and unending joy.

"Everybody please give it up for Camila Cabello, my wife!"
