YNNA

"Merry Christmas!"

I'm just staring at my aunts while they're dancing in the center of the pool, "Ynna? Do you want to drink?" My cousin, Justin asked but I just shrugged before smiling a bit.

Because of what happened last time, I don't know how to react actually. I can't read my father's action since he even sent Casper home after eating dinner with us! See? Everything's changing!

My eyes widen when I saw Mom walking towards me and pulled me towards where my cousins are.

"Don't drink too much." She said before leaving me, my cousins started shoving me shots which I gladly took.

I smiled at them and they started telling their stories and their love life's around the circle, "It feels great that we can bond with you already, Ynna. I remember every time we asked your Mom about you, she always says that you're busy with school so we can't really talk to you that much." I heard one of my cousin stated.

Oh my, all this time I thought that they just hate me because some of our relatives are comparing their achievements to mine. I'm really too insensitive!

After our Christmas celebration in the private resort, we drove home to Grandpa's house. I didn't have a hard time talking with my cousins since we're all in college and I can relate to them a lot. This is what I missed for the past few years!

When I headed towards my bedroom, my eyes widen when I saw my mom sitting on the bed while smiling as I entered the room. She immediately walked towards my direction and hugged me tight, "What is it, Mom?" I asked her.

"You're not my baby girl anymore, Ynna. You're a grown up now and you can already decide for yourself. I'm sorry if you're a bit sheltered compared to your cousins." She apologized, I let go of the hug and I think this is the right time to talk to her about it.

I sighed before smiling at her, "Mom, I want to tell you about ─." I stopped when she smiled before nodding.

"I already knew about it and I'm glad that you have your friends, especially Casper who's always there to calm you down. We knew that kid, you don't need to lie about him being with you on Ali's birthday." She chuckled before messing with my hair while I stood there frozen, unable to speak.

"Ynna, I'm your Mom. I know everything, and your Aunt Badette reports a lot. I understand where it came from, I'm sorry if you think that we're using you because of your brother's death. We just want you to make a different path because it'll be harder if you'll get pregnant at a very young age." She stated before holding my hand, "Also, Ms. Academia told me about your condition and Casper said that he'll refer you to his Aunt. I guess, you're really in good hands but don't betray my trust, okay?"

I nodded, "Yes, Mom. Thank you." I assured her so we both hugged each other again before she got out of my room.

This is more than just my wish, Lord. Thank you.

The day of my birthday arrived and everyone looked so busy!

"Ynna. Where do you want to eat for today?" Aunt Badette asked so I looked at her while I'm busy drying my hair in front of the mirror.

I didn't wear something special, an autumn colored sleeveless crop top and an ash blue high-waisted shorts' my outfit for today. I also wore a tan-colored bandana to add some color to my hair.

"Anything will do, Aunt Badette." I answered so she nodded before walking out of my room, I thought that maybe she'll get dressed too but my eyes widen when she returned with a box.

I bit my lip when I saw the color and name written on the shoe box, "You should use this." She insisted while handing me the box.

I immediately hugged her, "Thank you, Aunt!" I said before pulling out the box and getting her gift for me, it was a Nike Airmax 2090.

"I've seen you grow into a beautiful young lady. Even though I sometimes looked like your stalker." She joked before helping me wore the shoes.

It's so beautiful and it fits so perfectly!

"You could've just told me that you're following me, Aunt Badette." I mumbled, she laughed.

"I know that you'd freak out, you should've seen your face when I visited your dorm!" She teased, I just scratched the back of my head.

After a little chitchat with Aunt Badette, we both headed towards the others. They immediately hugged and greeted me a happy birthday, "Thank you." That was all I could say because I'm too overwhelmed that it's really happening.

I'm not an outcast anymore.

"Let's go! We're already hungry!" Uncle Theo joked so we all walked towards the van and went inside.

Inside the van, my cousins and I started talking about the embarrassing moments that happened on Christmas night because a lot of them we're drunk.

"Abby drunk called her ex! D─amn, she cried!"

We all laughed, "How about you, Ynna? You should've invited your boyfriend ─ I mean, suitor last time!" Abby said, trying to divert the topic to me.

I shrugged, "Family first." I answered and then they went like, 'ooh' before going back to Abby's moment again.

What I said was true, I did invite Casper but he was out of town with his family. And I don't know if they're back in Nueva Ecija already, he didn't text me yet.

After an hour of travel, we arrived at Foodguerra's Restaurant. I'm the last one to go down and my eyes widen when a kid (which looked like around thirteen or fourteen) stood in front of me with a huge box beside him.

"Happy Birthday!" He shouted before running, leaving me with the huge box.

My forehead creased, "Let me help you." Lander said, one of my eldest cousin so I nodded and let him carry the box.

"What is this? Some kind of gold?" He mumbled while we're walking towards the restaurant where my family's waiting.

As soon as we entered the restaurant, a party popper exploded, I gasped when they started singing a birthday song.

"Thank you." I mumbled when they gave me a huge dream cake with a candle, 'Welcome to Legality, Ynna!' Those are the words written on the cake.

"Make a wish!"

I closed my eyes, "I hope that this is real, that they really accepted who I am. I wish for happiness, success, and good health for the people around me." I whispered before blowing the candles as they clapped their hands.

After that, they ushered us towards a long table. I laughed when I saw Lander frowning while carrying the huge box, "Thank you." I thanked him when he put the box under our table.

I checked my phone while we're waiting for our food,

I chuckled when I saw the photo that was attached to the post, we looked so ugly! We're still young that time, around seventh grade if I'm not mistaken? I still had my full bangs like Dora the Explorer because that was the famous hair style that time! Ali had a side bangs too though.

"Ynna. The Manager wants to talk to you." I heard Granpa said so I immediately hid my phone before looking at his direction, I gasped when I saw a familiar face beside him.
