Hi. I got a question. Feel free to ignore it. Do you like Jack?

Song of the Chapter: Keep You Dry by Juke Ross

(Wow, I really am predictable...)

--------------

"Good night."

"Good night, P'King, P'Ram, P'Jack."

The junior waiied to all three as they stood on the concrete away from his car.

"Nong Light--"

"I won't be late again, P'Ram," Light answered, "I can't afford the gas to get you to the restaurant, much less buy something on that menu."

King laughed and looked at his boyfriend and his friend. Both of them loved to eat at expensive restaurants and both refused to let King pay where in the same breath they refused to pay for Light's salad.

Ram nodded at the junior, Jack asking him to drive carefully as Light pulled away from the curb and into traffic.

Jack turned to the couple.

Ram's hand was intertwined with King's and even in the dull, yellow streetlight, Jack could make out the tattoo on Ram's wrist and the necklace around King's neck.

He smiled and stuffed his hands in the pockets of his jeans.

Tonight had been the first night Ram had seen Jack out of his work clothes (consisting of a maroon button-up, black slacks, and his beige apron covering him from his chest to his shins). His flower shop friend was attractive in jeans and a simple black shirt with his silver flower necklace hanging low on his chest.

"There's something I need to talk to the two of you about," Jack spoke.

"Oh? Come on up then," King answered.

"No, thank you. I should be getting back after this anyway," Jack replied.

The couple nodded and moved away from the street to at least be in the light of the lobby doors to King and Ram's apartment building.

Jack sighed and rubbed his hands together, looking at them.

"What's wrong?" King questioned, noting his friend's odd behavior.

Jack gave the two a sad smile.

The couple knew immediately what Jack was thinking. They had spent years deciphering each other's facial expressions and those subtle movements of the body that spoke louder than their words.

Jack had become their test subject to know if their training on this was specific to each other or could be used on others.

They were right and it was painful.

"Jack..." Ram's voice slowly died off.

Ram stayed silent. Neither of them wanted to be right about something like this.

"It's up for sale now," Jack spoke, "Considering the location, I'm sure that it'll go quickly so I need to get ready as soon as possible."

King looked at Ram for support but the younger boy obviously was having a more difficult time than Ram comprehending the situation at hand. He looked lost, his grip on King's hand tight.

"Where do you plan on going?" King managed to force out, his voice shaky as he tried to put on a happy face.

Jack looked in thought for a moment before replying, "I think...I'll fly to Singapore first. I've heard Eastern Germany has tall trees and big forests. I might go there, go to a village somewhere and relax for a year."
