After Wes' first victory, Wes and Jessie went to a locsl track to do some drifting. they rode in Jessies Barracuda because the escort doesn't do well on flat surfaces. This is because it only has 150 horsepower. The Plymouth however has 550 horsepower which is enough for keeping good angle and control. The pair were sliding around having fun. They pulled into the pits to put on a new pair of tires, when someone approached them. "Hey nice Cuda." The stranger said. "Thanks" jessie replied. "It's probavly the best drft car around." "Is that so?" the nameless man inquired. "Yeah, she can drift better than anyone". Wes answered. "I don't know about that". jessie said. " Well how about we have a friendly competition"? the man asked. "ok. let's meet at the top of the mountain this Saturday at 10?' she replied. "Ok, that sounds good, see you then." he said."oh, i'm Steven." "I'm jessie." she rplied. he walked off to join his friends. The two finished drifting at the track and went home.

News about the upcoming battle spread quickly among the racing community. Everyone was wishing Jessie good luck in her first event. The time finally came for the battle to begin. "man i'm nervous" jessie said. "Don't worry yo'll be fine sis"wes responded, trying  to calm her nerves. The race starter asked"Are both racers ready?" "I am" steve said whille sitting in his Nissan Sileighty. "Me too" jessie replied. she got in her car, started the engine, and got to the start line. everyone thought she would los because of the blower blocking part of her view. However, they didn't know that it was there to help balance the car out. Both cars lined up and were ready to go. "Ok this is a drift style race,. whoever gets a higher score at the end wins. Green in 5...4...3...2...1...GO!" the announcer shouted. both cars cars lauched off. this time the viewers had bought mroe walky-talkies, so they could get a detailed description of the race. When they got to the fist corner,  Steven went to th inside. When he ollked back he saw that Jessie was barely missing the outside guardrail. When they exited the corner, the person with the radio gave her a higher score. Through the next corner, they were both door to dorr. An equal score was given to both of them.Neither spoke, nor thought too much, as hthey were focused on winning. At the s-curves, Jessie went outside on all of the corners She again got a higher score. "ok'jessie thought "the next corner is the deciding turn". This corner is a decepyively narrow curve. It doesn't usually catch racers out, but may drifters ahve crashed or spun by carryng too much speed. when they approached the turn, Jessie baked off, while steven kept koing. He went in with too much speed and spun, losing the race. Jessie stopped and got out of her car. "Are you ok?" she asked worriedly. "yeah.i'm fine. Hey, good jb." steven replied. "You too" she said, thankful he wasn't hurt. when they got back, thet were met with applause. both groups were happy to have participated, and celebrated the next day.
