Gone (a Zalfie fanfic)

Chapter 3

Alfie's POV

Mum got back home late. She had been drinking a lot. "Heyyyy darlin'." She was wobbling around in her heels. "Mum." I nodded. She needed a rest. I took her arm and pulled it over my shoulder so she could rest on me, while I guided her to her bedroom. It took a while to get up the stairs, as she didnt take a step when I did. I dragged her towards her bed and she flopped onto it. "G'night mum." She was too lazy to reply back to me, so I shut the door and went to my room.

I lay on my bed, thinking about dad. All the memories came back to me and I thought about how my life would've been like now, with him in it. I smiled while a tear trickled down my cheek. I fell silently to sleep.

I woke up all of a sudden for no reason. I was feeling energetic and ready to do something. I went downstairs still in my pajamas to see a note on the table. It wrote:

Im out.
Mum xx

Thats all she wrote. She could have said what time she'd be back at. I went back to my room to get my phone which had been on charge. I took the charger out of my phone and turned it on. I had a new message from Zoe.

Zoe: Hey do u maybe wanna meet up somewhere?

I texted back 'okay' and decided that we should meet up at a takeaway in town to get breakfast. I got changed and brushed my teeth. Then I did my hair and got money to pay. Zoe texted back saying 'okay cool'. When I was ready I went out the door and locked it. I just hoped mum had her own keys. I took the bus halfway there and walked the rest of the way.

I got to the takeaway place and looked for Zoe. She wasn't there yet so I waited for her. I sat down and made myself at home.

10 minutes later Zoe came barging through the door. "Alfie, sorry im late my mum had to take my little brother to his friend party before she could take me here so yh." I grinned and laughed. "Thats okay Zoe. So you have a little brother?" "Yeah, he's a few years younger than me. Also he's called Joe. Anyway should we order?" I nodded and asked her what she wanted. "I'm going to get an english breakfast sandwich. You?" "I'll have the same." She giggled. "You always have the same as me!" "Well you have good choices." I started walking up to the counter when Zoe stopped me. "Alf, I'll pay this time. You paid last time so I should this time." "No please Zoe, let me pay. Its fine!" She smiled and asked, "Are you sure?" I nodded, "Its my pleasure to." "Aww you really are a gentleman." I stood with my head up high and she laughed.

I went to order and pay for our breakfasts while Zoe waited. The food came quickly and we headed outside to eat. We found a bench to sit on while we ate. We ate in a non awkward silence apart from the traffic noises. After we ate, we chatted about siblings and school and funny stuff. "Well I think I have to go home now.", Zoe said. "Okay me too, let's walk down together." We held hands and walked, while talking.

Authors note

I think Im going to do a time skip for maybe 7 months or something as nothing is really happening now. Its going to get better I promise!

Today was the last day of school! Woooooooooo! Very exciting. Now I can chillax and play sims 3 all day. :)
