Jimin and Y/N were the first ones to arrive at their health classroom, and just like most of their other classes, they sat together. "Jimin, do you want to have ice cream before planning the story? Like a sort of break from school and then we can get to work, and if you don't like ice cream, we can-" Y/N spoke frantically since she was a bit flustered and excited at the same time.
"Ice cream works! Y/N, are you sure you wanna be friends with someone like me, I mean, you're strong, brave and all, but you can't beat up the whole school... just to defend me..." Jimin's tone was shallow, he wasn't not looking at Y/N, instead, he glanced towards the window. Remind her of the first time she saw him.
Y/N grabbed his face with her hands and tilted it towards her own. "I really wanna be friends with you! Jimin, why do you keep hiding your face? You are so handsome, and I really want you to look at me..."
Jimin seemed taken aback by her words, but then he quickly put his hands on top of hers and gently placed them in his lap. He held Y/N's hands on his lap as he caressed them with her thumb, and looked down at them.
"Y-Y/N..." Jimin stuttered, "I hate my face... and I hate myself..." he admitted, looking at the wooden pavement beneath his feet. Her frown intensified as her eyebrows pushed against each other, forming into a sympathetic frown. "When I look at my brother, I just feel like I am a mistake. I mean, we have the same face, so why do I feel like he is handsome yet I'd call myself ugly? We have the same face, so why am I the copy, the ugly one, the mistake?"
Placing her hands on the nape of Jimin's nape, she guided him into a warm and long hug. "Why is he the sun? No actually, why am I not even called the moon... I'm just trash, I'm just a toy that has the shape of the sun." he mumbled into her hoodie, his voice muffled from the soft material that was pressed against his face.
Remembering that they were in a classroom and that someone could walk in and potentially bully Jimin for this, Y/N checked the time. There was still ten minutes left to class, so she soughed, hoping that it would be enough time for Jimin to calm down.
"Jimin, it's okay. You can tell me anything you want at my house... my dad will be out anyway," she consoled him as she patted his head delicately.
"Then how about your m-mom?" he faltered, afraid that his question may have hurt Y/N since she had never mentioned her.
"My mom... she is gone. She passed away," Y/N croaked out, looking at the ceiling to prevent the tears that might've left her eyes. Everything at that moment was just extremely overwhelming. "Let's not talk about that for now, okay? Just make sure you are ready for class, hm?"
"Sorry-" Jimin quickly apologized, pulling himself away from her frantically. However, Y/N grabbed his shoulders and giggled slightly, trying to not to show the fact that she was about to tear up.
"It's okay, Jimin!" Y/N reassured him, "Come on, let's get our composure, they'll be here soon!" she whispered, fixing her hoodie and moving her chair back to face the front.
When the teacher and students came in, the class began. "Hey, class! I just wanted to explain what we'll learn this year, so we will mainly focus on the different types of relationships, but we'll talk also about self-esteem." Ms. Ko explained before assigning her class their first assignment.
...
"Finally! It's time for the best subject on Earth! Art!" Y/N beamed in excitement, dropping her stuff by her locker. Once they were both finished with their lockers, they headed to class.
The class was a little noisy when the two friends had made their way inside. All students were chatting amongst themselves and playing around with the art materials. Y/N and Jimin couldn't help but laugh when some of their classmates drew a moustache on each other's faces, it was hilarious. When Mr. Do stepped inside and saw what was going on, he sighed.
The students would always do that, and it really made him wonder if they were actual High Schoolers. "Quiet down class!" the teacher smiled and proceeded with the directions. "Today you'll have to paint with both, acrylic paint and watercolours, it's up to you how you use them in your painting. You can draw anything, yourself, a person, a cat, a dog, a car, any landscape, all this as long as it's school appropriate!"
Mr. Do recommended cheekily, making the students groan at the old-fashioned warning.
Y/N rubbed her chin as she thought of what she could possibly draw, but her mind just stayed blank. She turned to look at Jimin who was already confidently sketching something over the big canvas.
"What are you drawing? I have zero inspiration..." Y/N chimed as she approached Jimin, but he shook his head and moved the canvas away from her, making sure she'd be unable to see his drawing, "Oh, come on!" she whined in frustration, trying to move her head and neck into various directions to get a peek of his artwork.
"Someday I'll show you, but not now..." Jimin gave her a mini, twisted grin as he erased something and redrew it once again. An answer like that would never satisfy her curiosity. Nevertheless, the fact that Jimin had moved to sit in the back of the classroom, so she couldn't even ask others what was he drawings, only made her curiosity grow.
As Y/N looked around, she had also come to a conclusion, Jihoon wasn't in class. Why? She had no idea, but she hoped it wasn't because he was sick or anything else concerning.
After an hour, everyone was already cleaning up except for Y/N and Jimin, they were still adding the last touches to their paintings. They were both actually really fond of art. Mr. Do sighed, he loved kids like them immersed in the art until they were finished.
Y/N finished her painting and gave it to their teacher, so he could let it dry outside and hand it back to her next class. As Jimin kept on painting, eager to finish during that class, Y/N washed the brushes, palette and cup that she had used.
Even though everyone had already left, Y/N patiently waited for Jimin to finish up, and once he did, he handed the painting to Mr. Do, making sure Y/N would be unable to see it. He apologized for holding his teacher back by twenty minutes and bowed before the both of them made their way out of the classroom.
Y/N and Jimin were laughing loudly as they made their way towards their lockers from the art classroom. She kept bugging Jimin about his painting, and he just kept refusing to tell her what did he draw.
"You said you'll show me someday! Does that mean that you are planning to befriend me for a long long time?" she batted her eyelashes a couple of times, looking like a dainty five-year-old begging her parents to buy her a toy.
"Aish! Why are you trying to act cute!? You are terrible at this, please stop..." Jimin covered his eyes, scrunching his nose, feeling cringed. Deep down he did think that she was adorable, but that was a secret that she couldn't know. "I'm not going anywhere, it's you who's likely to leave, not me..."
"Hey! I'm not leaving! I'll wait for you to show me! Even if it takes a hundred years!" Y/N exclaimed as a glint of playfulness sparkled in her eyes. Jimin couldn't help but cackle at her babyish words.
"Well, I'ma go and take a pee 'cause I've been laughing more than I ever did throughout my depressing life." he snickered, putting his stuff into his locker seedily before running off to the bathroom, leaving a laughing Y/N behind.
While Jimin was gone and Y/N was packing, Jihoon approached her all of a sudden. "Hey, Y/N, I'm sorry for leaving you at lunch! Sora was very nice to me and her friends were absent today, so she wanted me to keep her company!"
She jumped a little when she had heard his voice. In all honestly, she hadn't thought about Jihoon that much all day, and it seemed as if he was thinking the same way, so his sudden appearance was weird. "No problem," Y/N replied simply.
"Oh, before I go... would you like to hang out on Saturday or Sunday?" he asked making Y/N feel startled yet again due to the unexpected invite.
"Sure! That would be great!" she accepted, feeling fluttered that Jihoon was willing to spend a day of his weekend with her.
"Okay, then I'll text you!"
