Chapter 16

Friday, September 12th - 3:00 PM (Afterschool)

"This is my first time going to your house." Y/N smiled as she put her laptop into her bag before zipping it. Jihoon suddenly remembered that she was coming over to their house since she and Jimin had to work on the book-project-thingy.

"Guys, can we walk home together? I also live in that house, you know?" she laughed at Jihoon's words, but she wanted to leave the answer up to Jimin. Jihoon noticed that Y/N wasn't going to answer, and that made him upset. Why didn't she want to go with him? Why is she always choosing Jimin over him? He can't let her chose him. Jimin felt irritated by the fact that his brother tried to dig his nose in other's business, so he answered,

"No, Jihoon. You have friends, just go for a sleepover or something. I always leave the house when you need it." he slammed the door of his locker shut, but it wasn't too harsh. It was just about enough to prove his irritation.

"But Hyung! I never asked you to leave! It is completely your choice, I've never asked you to do that." Jihoon whined and he kind of startled Y/N since he called Jimin Hyung. She knew that Jimin was older by a few months, but she never heard Jihoon addressing him that way.

"Don't you dare to call me Hyung!" Jimin ordered as he abruptly turned around to look at him sternly, "Why in front of Y/N I'm your brother all of a sudden? Why do you think I only opened up to Y/N superficially? I didn't want her to think you're the bad guy, I was created to be the bad guy and to prove that you are an angel. So I couldn't bring myself to say more than enough bad things about you, yet you are being selfish! Do you think I'm stupid? Oh, Jihoon, I'm way sharper than what you think... I just pretended to be an idiot, so you could get credit for being smart. Since you were already overshadowing me with your beaming personality which is just an act of hypocrisy, I decided to also let you be the genius of the family. What more do I have to lose anyway?" Y/N was really surprised by what Jimin said, and she was exploding with the need to bust him with questions. However, she kept herself from doing so since it was definitely not the right moment.

"Stop acting as if you are the only victim! Is it my fault if you decided to allow me to overshadow you? Did I say I wanted to be the better twin?" he shouted at Jimin, making Y/N flinch slightly as she was standing in between them.

"Guys! Please stop! Jimin and I have to work on a project! Jimin, do you want him to come or not? I'll agree with whatever you say, and it's not because I don't want Jihoon to come. I just want to make sure Jimin doesn't feel bothered, no offence Jihoon." Jihoon was even angrier, he couldn't believe that Y/N let him win in that too. Jimin grabbed her hand and started walking away before saying,

"I don't care. He can do whatever he wants, he can follow if he wants." she smiled at Jimin,

"You could've said that more nicely, but thank you for being rational!" Jihoon rolled his eyes and followed them from behind. Once they were out of school Y/N saw a Starbucks, and she really couldn't resist, "Jimin, Jihoon, can we stop by Starbucks? Please?" Jimin chuckled and that made Jihoon feel even guiltier. He had a thousand reasons to let Y/N go, but he just couldn't, he stayed selfish even after seeing the smile that he's never seen before on his brother's face. He noticed that while he was busy drowning in his own thoughts, Y/N and Jimin were waiting for his answer, so he quickly nodded, shooting them an awkward smile. After they reached the cafe and decided what to order, Jimin told the cashier their order,

"Two ice-blended mochas small size and one hot chocolate medium size. Thank you!" after paying, they continued making their way home.

"I had no idea Jimin liked Starbucks..." Jihoon muttered before swallowing a sip of his hot chocolate. Y/N smiled and put her arms around Jimin's shoulder,

"On Tuesday we went there for the first time. This guy really loves coffee and me too!" Jihoon nodded awkwardly, even though deep down he felt super jealous. They even have similar taste, what the hell was he supposed to do to win? After the awkward stroll, they all arrived at Jimin's and Jihoon's mention, and Y/N stared at it with a super surprised expression.

"Wow! Ya'll are really that rich!" Jimin laughed at her astonished face and rang the bell. His mom opened the door which usually doesn't happen since they have maids that are in charge of answering the bell.

"Oh, hello! You must be Y/N, right? I heard a lot about you from Jihoon and Jimin." Y/N gave her a polite bow as she smiled brightly.

"Yes ma'am! My name is An Y/N! It's a pleasure to meet you!" the twin's mother bowed back to her and made space for the three of them to enter the enormous mention. "Jimin and I will go ahead and work on our project. Thank you very much for your hospitality!" she bowed again, but as she and Jimin were about to leave Jimin's mother said,

"Would you like to stay for dinner?" Y/N felt surprised, but sadly she had to reject the kind offer of Jimin's and Jihoon's mother.

"Thank you very much for your invitation ma'am, but I'm afraid I can't stay. You see, today my uncle is coming over all of a sudden, my dad texted me about it only recently. I missed him a lot since he lives in America!"

"Oh, I see! It's alright dear, make sure to come some other time!"

"Yes, ma'am!" she and Jimin went to his room and Y/N let out a heavy sigh, "I did well, right? Was I polite enough? Did she like me? It didn't sound like an excuse, right? I promise I wasn't lying! My dad really texted me about my uncle after I told him that the fire was a false alarm!" she showed him her phone with her dad's message, Jimin smiled and nodded,

"You did well! I'm sure she already adores you!" he replied, "If a person like me could like you in just a week then anyone else could like you in an instant!" Y/N laughed and they got started with their project.
