Blank.
Her mind went blank as soon as she heard his words. It was as if everyone around them disappeared, and nothing really mattered anymore. Her ears could only hear the jazzy music being played in the room.
She then allowed herself to get lost in his eyes again. She felt at loss for words when Jimin took her out of her thoughts.
"Here you go." He placed the drink she ordered in front of her and she quickly turned her attention to him.
"Thanks!" She thanked him trying to ignore the words she just heard from the handsome young man sitting down next to her.
"What can I serve you?" Jimin asked the young man.
"I'll get an Old Fashioned please."
"I'll get it for you right away." Jimin left to prepare his order.
Feeling the heaviness of the pressure of her embarrassment, Yerim drank her glass of Whiskey all at once. She grimaced as she finished it.
"Now, now. That's not how a woman should drink Whiskey." The charismatic man told her.
She could feel her cheeks turning red and the sweat perling on her forehead as her embarrassment increased.
"You should drink slowly. Or you will get drunk too quickly."
"Oh." That's all she could reply.
"You should appreciate the taste of it better. Drinking good alcohol well is an art that should be mastered."
Everything he said sounded so sexy to her. It was the first time a man made her feel that disturbed.
"Here you go." Jimin placed the drink in front of the young man and quickly disappeared to tend to the other clients.
Yerim saw him taking a sip from his drink and he could swear he never saw something as sexy as this before. Who would have thought she would find a man drinking sexy.
Truthfully, she thought everything about him was sexy. From the way, he was wearing a gray checked suit, to his nicely polished brown Derby shoes. The way his velvet tie was slightly untied and showed the few buttons of the collar of the white shirt he was wearing being unbuttoned.
The way his Adam's apple was moving as he was swallowing his cocktail. The way his rather bottom plump pinky lips touched the glass filled up with the slightly brown-colored liquid.
"Do you want to try and taste it?" He asked her while signaling his drink to her.
"What is it made of?" She asked while biting her lip in embarrassment.
What would he think of her not even knowing what his drink was. She was right. She really doesn't belong to this place. Joy probably would have known what his drink was made of.
He cracked a smile and looked at her intently. "This one is made of Bourbon Bulleit, aromatic bitters, added with cubed sugar, and Luxardo cherries."
"I see ..." Yerim looked away when he realized he never tasted anything that he mentioned before. Even the description of the cocktail sounds expensive to her.
"Could you please get this lady an Old Fashioned as well?" The man asked Jimin who was busy mixing a drink.
"Sure! I'll get one right away." Jimin replied, feeling quite surprised about the situation.
Yerim could almost hear Jimin's questions from where she was sitting down. She played with her fingers nervously as she stared at the empty glass in front of her.
"So, do you mind explaining why does a pretty lady like you drink alone that quickly at night?"
Yerim looked at him feeling taken aback by his question. Did he really want to know why? Did he want to get to know her?
"It's just ... To think of something else for a little while."
"I see." He replied as he took another sip of his drink. "I guess that's what we both are here for then."
"Really?" She asked almost too quickly. "I mean, oh." She tucked her hair behind her ear in embarrassment.
"Do you mind telling me your story?"
"I'm not sure you really want to hear about it."
Yerim replied truthfully."I'll tell you mine afterwards."
Yerim looked at him in surprise. Would he really tell her? Or was it all just an act to flirt with her?
"Here you go." Jimin hesitantly placed the tumbler-like glass in front of Yerim.
"Thanks." She quietly thanked him.
"Drink it one sip at a time." The young man advised her.
She nodded a bit and took a sip of the drink. She liked it. She smiled a bit realizing that even the taste of it was expensive.
"Do you like it?"
"It tastes good." She replied with a small smile.
"I was sure you'd like it." He said with a smirk.
"So. Will you tell me your story?"
"I ..." Yerim was taken aback by this handsome man's interest in her.
Just talk to him Kim Yerim. It's not every day that a sexy and probably rich man talks to you, she thought.
"My best friend is getting married." She sighed, accepting to talk to him a bit.
"While I'm still single and unable to even flirt with a man."
She truthfully told him. She looked at him as she heard him laugh a bit. Was he mocking her?"It's quite a funny situation." He said.
"What is?" She asked feeling a bit upset with his reaction.
"My friend also is getting married." He said as he took a big sip of his drink.
"Really?" Yerim felt surprised by the coincidence.
"I guess we were meant to meet today, miss." He told her with a smile.
"Maybe ..." She gulped as her eyes were unable to leave his lips.
"May I know your name?" He asked her before licking his lip in a way that caused Yerim's heart to race.
"Yerim. Kim Yerim." She introduced herself feeling quite curious about what his name could be.
She wondered if even his name was as sexy as he was."I'm Jeon Jeongguk."
