Begin Again

Run, Run, Run Away

Elsie Cortese was strolling around Wintergreen campus, her long straight brown hair pulled back into a ponytail. She began to familiarize herself with the campus, yet once again. Fond memories of last year coming back to her. This year was different though. This year she could board.

Suddenly, she felt as if someone was following her. Elise turned around to see Derek and his little posse containing Jake and Robby, right behind her. Quickly she turned around again and began to speed up her pace.

"Maybe they'll ignore me if I dint talk to them," Elise thought.

Unfortunetly, luck was not on her side.

"Hey pretty girl, where you going?" She heard the voice of Derek say. His friends snickered.

Elsie decided to ignore them.

"Come on Elsie, you can come back to my room."

Suddenly Elsie spun around and said " Derek, I don't think anyone would come back to your room, even if you payed them a million dollars."

The look on Derek's face quickly turned from shock to anger.

" I'll get you for that one, you liitle bitch!" He spat.

As soon as he said that, Elsie began to run. She coul hear the sound of footsteps behind her.

Elsie willed herself to go faster, keeping her head down. She thought she was about to lose them until she ran straight into someone.

"Watch where you're going!" A boy with straight brown hair snapped at her.

"Louis! Don't be rude!" Another boy with black hair styled into a quiff said.

Elsie looks behind her. Derek and the boys were almost here, walking now, as it didn't seem as Elsie was going anywhere soon.

"I'm Zayn." The boy with black hair said, holding out a hand to help Elsie up.

"Hi, I'm Elsie and they want to kill me." She said. pointing towards the gang once she got up.

"Oh look it's the axemen."Louis sneers.

"Ha,ha Tomlinson." Derek says sarcastically. Robby and Jake stood menacingly behind him.Robby being the bulkiest out of the trio, cracked his fingers threateningly.

Elsie gulped. Zayn gave her a reassuring smile.

"What do you want, Derek?" Zayn said, being the more resonible one of the two.

"The girl." Derek growls, taking a step foward, his friends right behind him.

Zayn and Louis stood protectivly in front of Elsie.

"Mate, what's your problem? I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time a girl rejected you." Louis snapped.

"You're going to regret you said that!" Derek shouted.

The 5 boys were just about to tear each other apart when suddenly, Elsie shoved herself in between them.

"Boys! It's our first day back! I for one, would not like to get kicked out. Save it for tomorrow!" Elsie lectured.

Hesitantly, all 5 boys slowly backed away from each other.

"You got lucky this time!" Derek snarled, turning around and walking away with the rest of his friends.

Jake spit on the ground before follwing after them.

A silence fell between the 3 remaining teens.

"Well then, I don't think of properly introduced myself. I'm Louis Tomlinson." The boy with straight brown hair said, holding out a hand.

"And I'm Elsie Cortese." She said, taking Louis' hand.

Suprisingly, instead of shaking her hand, Louis pulled her in for a hug. Elsie laughed at the sudden gesture, hugging him back.

"Well, if we're are going to get all fancy, my name's Zayn Malik." He said also hugging Elsie.

"Boys, thank you so much for helping me out back there." Elsie says. "They would have beaten my ass!"

"I don't think I've ever heard a girl say that. Ever." Louis says, chuckling. Zayn pokes Louis in the ribs with his elbow, as if to say shut up.

Elsie raises her eyebrows. "Oh, so I'm not a girl anymore? I guess I'll just leave then."

"No, no! He's just kidding!" Zayn says, not wanting to make Elsie feel hurt. He may look like a tough guy, but in reality all he was was a big softie. Probably due to the fact he was brought up and raised with a mostly girl family.

"Zayn, has anyone told you you are incredibly gullible?" Elsie giggles.

Zayn blushes.

"Mate, you just got powned by a girl." Louis says, shaking his head.

It seemed like a start of a beautiful friendship.
