Chapter 4: a New Member: the Sniper

A week after this, the trio are at a dock. Maya, who is crying, asks, "Are you really going?"

Saga answers, "I am Maya-chan. What kind of person would I be if I didn't. Maya-chan... I promise that I'll come back to you. This is a promise of a lifetime, believe it."

They then get on the dinghy, and sail off into the sea. As they were sailing, Saga asks, "So what is the name of our crew?"

Naruto answers, "The Uzumaki Pirates."

Saga asks, "Why Uzumaki, and didn't you also say that you were not a pirate?"

Naruto answers, "Sorry, I didn't fully introduce myself. My name is Naruto D. Uzumaki. Also we are going to be called pirates by the Marines, so I just beat them to it."

Saga then asks, "So, do you have a Jolly Roger in mind?"

Naruto answers, "I do." The Uzumaki then grabs a blank black flag, and some paint. The first thing Naruto paints is the Uzumaki Swirl. After that, he paints two Kubikiribochos that are crossed in a "X" shape. Over the Kubikiribochos, Naruto paints a human skull, with a happuri-style Konoha hitai-ate.

Naruto then asks, "So do you like it, First Mate?"

Saga nods in response, completely ignoring that Naruto called him his First Mate.

Naruto then brings it to the top of the Mast, where the flag will fly for the rest of it's days. Or at least til Naruto can get a better ship.

As the duo are sailing, they come across a slave ship. Naruto says, "Saga, this is a slave ship. If you want to be a "Sword of Justice", freeing all those slaves is a good place to start. I'll join you when you finish."

So Saga jumps from the ANBU, onto the slave ship, cutting through the first guy he saw, and then the next guy, who was conveniently standing next to the first guy. This is when ten slavers appear. The first one rushes Saga with a cutlass, only to be slashed across the stomach. Another Slaver shoots him with two flintlocks, which Saga cuts the bullets into two.

The third Slaver bum rushes Saga, who ducks, which allows the Slaver to fly into the ANBU. Naruto waves at the Slaver, and then stabs them. Now back to Saga, and the fourth Slaver, who just got both of his hands cut off in a single slash. While the fifth one, uses a rifle like a sword, only for Saga to cut both the sword, and then the Slaver in half. The last five Slavers rush together. When they are close enough, Saga spins around, creating a twister of wind. He yells, "Shi Tatsumaki (Death Tornado)!"

Naruto then appears on the deck of the slave ship. As soon as they enter, the duo are crowded. Naruto then yells, "You are free! Get topside, and sail home! Is there anyone that is locked up, or can't move?"

A Slave answers, "Their is only one person locked up. He is at the bottom of the ship."

Naruto replies, "Thank you." He then points to Saga, and says, "This is Saga, and he'll help you to the deck. While I help the person that is locked up."

Naruto then descends further into the ship, only to see a locked up male with long dark brown hair. The man looks up at Naruto, only to see the blonde in shock. Naruto could see his featureless white eyes. He whispers, "Neji, is that you?"

This "Neji" wears a white kimono-shirt with long, loose sleeves, matching pants, a navy-grey apron tied around his waist, and black shinobi sandals.

Naruto didn't think that "Neji" would hear him, but he did. "Neji" asks, "How do you know my name, when we never even met each other before this?"
Naruto internally curses, but lyingly answers, "I had a friend named Neji, who looked just like you. Sadly he died a few years back."

Naruto then breaks the cage door open, and the chains from Neji's wrist. Neji asks, "Why did you personally do this, when you had that other guy fight?"

Naruto answers, "My First Mate wants to be a "Sword of Justice". Ya know? Protect the weak, and help the poor, that kind of stuff. I figured you are probably special if you were locked up like this. So, as Captain of the Uzumaki Pirates, I thought I'd offer you a place beside me. So what are your skills."

Neji answers, "I am a Sniper, and a martial artist. All though, I'm a better Sniper more than anything. I also ate a Devil Fruit."

Naruto asks, "Which one?"

Neji replies, "The Me Me no Mi: Model: Byakugan (Eye Eye Fruit: Model: All Seeing White Eye). It's a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, that allows me to see nearly three hundred and sixty degrees, magnify my vision to the cellular level, through solid objects, or obstructions, and finally be able to see twenty kilometers away."

Naruto then gives Neji a box, and says, "Open it."

So Neji does. Inside are a pair of custom Flintlock .44 Caliber Revolvers. These revolvers have eight shots, instead of six, a slightly longer barrel, with an iron sight at the end of said barrel, and has a sharpshooter's grip that helps with accuracy. Like the regular revolver, these revolvers also have a swing-out cylinder and a rapid-fire trigger. The revolvers can also shoot a large assortment of ammo.

Seeing Neji's face, Naruto knew that the Hyuga was hooked instantly. Naruto then says, "You can have those, I don't care. I found them on this ship. Do whatever you want..."

Neji interrupts Naruto, and says, "I want to join your crew."

Naruto smiles, "That's wonderful news. I shall go tell our First Mate, and swordsman."

As they return to the deck, Naruto says, "Enjoy your new found freedom. Do whatever you want. Create a pirate crew for all it's worth. It's time for us three to leave, and I hope to hear in the future that you all weren't recaptured." This is when the trio return to the ANBU, and speed off to sea once again.

Naruto sees a small craft appear next to the ANBU, the man is a tall muscular young man with curly black hair, with rather childish freckles. His tattoos were among his most remarkable, trademark features. He had a tattoo on his back of the Whitebeard symbol — purple bones formed in a cross behind a purple skull with a white mustache — that he described as his pride and joy. Another tattoo on his upper left bicep that spells "ASCE" vertically.

The man wears black boots, black knee-length shorts with an eyelet-studded orange belt, and a blue pouch belted around his left leg. He also wears a short second belt with a large red "A" on the silver buckle over his right hip, but left it unfastened and threaded the free end along the back of his shorts. A dagger in a green sheath hung at his left hip.

On Ace's left arm, he wore a Log Pose and a red and white striped bracelet around his wrist, an orange elbow guard under his "ASCE" tattoo. He wore a red beaded necklace and an orange hat with two blue smileys, one frowning and one smiling, and a string of red beads sitting above the rim. Two long orange side straps hung down sides of his hat and met at a large medallion of a bull's skull with orange tassels.

Naruto looks at the man, and says, "So, "Fire Fist" Ace, what are you doing here? Wait... Nevermind. I already know, seeing as we are both brothers of Luffy."

Ace replies, "Just whenever you are near Luffy, could you protect him, please? Also, I heard that Luffy is in Shells Town, which is that way." He then points in the direction of Shells Town.

Naruto chuckles, as he says, "Luffy just causes his own special brand of mischief, doesn't he? Anyway, See you in the Grand Line, Nii-san."

Ace nods his head yes in response, accepting the title of Nii-san from the blonde. He then returns to his craft, and speeds off into the sea. This is when Saga awakens, and sees the craft speed off. He asks, "Who is that?"

Naruto answers, "No one important. He's just the Second Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates."

Saga is shocked. He worriedly asks, "Why was he here?"

Naruto answers, "Does a Nii-san need a reason to visit his Imoto? All though, we are not related by blood. If that is what you are wondering. He looks more like our Imoto, Luffy. From what I know, I look more like Sabo. Sadly, he was blown up by a World Noble's Bazooka rifle."

Saga then asks, "So, Captain, where are we going next?"

Naruto answers, "Shells Town."
