Chapter Four: Faithless Warrior

Ethan wasted no time in gathering materials from The strongest plants and scavaging from the downed ships in the crater that used to be his home with his wife. The Cyborg kept hearing the whispers of the vines that were bound to his body, reminding him of what he needed to do as he worked on making a functional personal craft for getting to whereever Skyler was so he could end the blond man's life for what he did. The man worked hard at making a space worthy vessel, Shamon and Jasmine helped him to make the single person spaceship. 

The man was a quick worker with making the spaceship. It only took about a week to scavage and build a ship that would get him to Newdawn. Shamon watied for the ship to liftoff before he followed behind and clung to the ship's sides as they were propelled through space. How the Krackenoids were adapted to space travel like this, Ethan did not know. it was just another wierd thing that the species could do. But that was not of priority at the moment as he needed to get to newdawn and Kill Skyler.  

His blood was boiling as he felt himself get closer to his destination. The death of his stepbrother loomed closer and closer. The cybirg male closed his eyes in order to rest before his battle. He let out a sigh as he felt his distance from the sleeping planet grow. It would not hurt to try and sleep for a little bit. Ethan let go of the controls and let the ship drift through the expanse of space, the twinkling stars and the ancient Krackenoid were his only companions. His mind swam with visions of his past and those he lost. The ones he loved. His wife. Helianthus. his crew. Ethan's heart was broken. He did not know if he could survive this heartbreak after he finished his quest to kill All of the leadership of Starcorp. His new appendages twitched as they felt his heartbeat. He slowed his breathing and practiced controlling his limbs while he rested. The soft hums of his crafted ship and the purring of the vines wore on his tired mind. 

Ethan felt himself fall into sleep. The gentle humming of the ship and his own exhaustion caused him to easily succumb to sleep. He did not know how long he drifted like that, sleeping peacefully in space. Being separated from the most evil organization he could imagine. Just having himself and a trusted companion floating through the expanse of the cosmos. Having a soft melody hummed to him by his ship as he slept dreamlessly for the first time in thousands of years. The cyborg man was at peace. 

A sharp sound caused him to wake up, it was the buzzing of the communicatior that he had found and was using to track down Skyler. The brunet man groaned and turned the communicator off, he was having such a nice bit of rest. He did not want it to be disturbed by any starcorp nonsense. His feelings towards starcorp were nowhere near as friendly as they used to be. The communicator was silent before turning itself back on. From it came a female robotic voice, "Ethan. My child, Where were you?" The cyborg man did not reply and turned the volume of the communicator down. He made a small scoff before trying to relax again. Only to have the communicator increase the volume on its own.  Ethan was irritated by this. 'Leave me alone, Kikai.,' he thought to himself and covered his ears with the soft vines that wove themselves into a pillow for him. 

"My child? Why can I not sense you? Did something happen to your enhancements?," The robotic voice of the controller AI, Kikai, spoke, "Do you need new ones made for you?" Ethan Ignored her. The voice of the AI was causing him to remember how horribly he used to be under her control, the subtle manipulations and conditioning she made him undergo to be one of the best admirals of Starcorp. The man rolled over and ignored Kikai's speech. It was a bit childish, but it was to keep him from Snapping from the hatred he had for her now. The man sighed and Held his hands over his ears to try and block the voice of his former boss. This AI built herself up as a mother figure to all the people under starcorp's rule, but she was actually manipulating them into growing her empire. Her want to grow the empire has destroed many planets and species. Species that were now mostly extinct, such as the vampires of Moltana.
