Gauntlet

Chapter 4

Fire and stone, bombs and lasers, bullets and catapults. Any kind of projectile you can think of rained down on the village of Meliodas.
Airships by the dozen flew all over the village and shot down every building that stood tall.
All the other villagers could only reacted in terror as their precious village was being destroyed. But surprisingly no one was killed, only the stronghold walls were targeted and village buildings. Everyone kept safe inside or underneath the rubble.

Everyone was safe but not before the airships started to land. Once landing a giant symbol was plastered on the side of every ship. A giant fist, and out from them came out the most biggest and strongest of men and women, equipped with the mechanical capacity for greater power. They illegally attach unused robotic parts to their bodies to allow them an extra strength that rivals most attack gauntlets.

They are called the Harbingers.

Equipped with armor of used robo parts and metal shields shaped like a fist. They used metal blades and axes, and had a blood thirsty appetite for scavaging and raiding local villages. No form of government could control them and they were always spread around the continent, they were a force of nature.

As they stepped down they immediately didn't hesitate to attack the villagers.
As one juggernaut made his way to the front he let out a cry,

"Leave no survivors, you know the mission, kill them all!"

As his sudden order the group all made their way to killing every last villager. They kept them alive from the air assault only to have the pleasure of killing them themselves.

While the village was under attack and innocent villagers ran from the terrifying war machines, young Allyza was still getting back to the village, she was almost out of the forest when she started hearing screaming and saw smoke above the walls. She quickly climbed on the edge and into the top where she was able to see the buildings burning from within and rubble from the neighboring houses.

"What happened here" , she thought as she quickly got down from the walls and avoided said burning houses.
She ran past like 3 burnt buildings when she started seeing some of the villagers running and screaming. As she tried to approach anyone they would just run past her and one even pushed her aside.
She got up and tried to approach them but then she was pushed back down and tripped over what seemed to be one of the merchants from the village. She saw he was stabbed through the chest with an arm severed and bled all around.

She couldn't believe what she was seeing, she immediately got up and ran but she heard an unfamiliar sound, like a metal machine was approaching. She looked around and noticed a huge rubble she could hide behind.
She got to hiding but at the edge of the rubble she peaked to see what was heading her direction. She couldn't believe what she saw.

A 6 foot barbarian built man was walking with robotic peices of armor attached to him. On a left hand a handheld spear made of used robotic parts and on the other a giant fist shield that surrouded his whole arm. He walked slowly but with huge thump. The ground shook just being near proximity of him. He was searching with blood shot eyes for anyone who survived.

"What are those", she said softly with a confused but shocked look on her face.

When at the corner of one of the buildings ran out one of the women villagers.
"She looks like she was the wife of the merchant she saw a while ago" , Allyza thought to herself.

But Allyza was not the only one that noticed her as the war machine soldier immediately noticed her and ran straight at her like a rhino. He immediately impaled her with his spear and knocked her back with his shield. Another villager from across the other building saw this as well saw this and tried to run away. But his efforts were cut short when he immediately charged towards him and threw his spear directly at the man's chest.
He was ruthless and showed no mercy to those running and speared and threw all he saw.
He was just finish stabbing another villager in the chest when suddenly a small laser blast struck him from the back and made him flinch for a while.
Turning around he saw it was a few of the villagers but they were not running away.

In their hands were gauntlets. They were armed and ready to fight back the war machine invaders.
