I sat on the rusty old chair beside Tom contemplating how and when I should text him. I can't even believe I just got his number. "How did he give you his number, what did he say, how did he say it, I can't believe you, Aria, you actually made a move, it's going to rain cats and dogs now, how did this even-" Tom's words were going at about 170 mph.

"TOM."

"YES A." He paused. "You're blabbering is interrupting my thoughts, I'm figuring out what I'm going to say when I text him." Tom snorts. "Obviously you're gonna say hi like a normal person." Tom continued to laugh at my nervousness and I stood up. "I'll just text him after work." Tom grins and we both step back into the shop. Hours go by and our shift is up. We say hi and bye to Sheila and Max and head home. I give Tom the details since he wouldn't stop bothering me about it.

"Okay, but I have to be there when you text him"

"No way Tom, are you kidding me"

"Yes way, come on, I'll pay for pizza."

"Fine." I can't give up that opportunity.

We walked inside my house and Tom went straight for the fridge. "Hey I thought you said you'd buy pizza, not eat everything in my fridge." Tom glared back at me. "Shut it A, I basically got you his number, it was because he heard my whisper in the first place." I roll my eyes, "Exactly, it was because of his ears." Tom made a hurt expression "My whisper had a part in it." I gave in to the thought just so he'd shut up. "Fine." With straight faces, we sat at the table with the scribbled napkin on the table and my phone beside it. Tom and I looked up at each other making eye contact. We nodded in unison and I grabbed my phone. I unlocked my phone and typed the number into my phone. I saved it with his name and began to type.

'Hi'

Before I can press the send button I put down the phone. "It's too risky Tom oh my gosh."

"Are you kidding me Aria?" Tom, clearly done with my bullshit, presses the send button.

I scream. He screams. We're both screaming. We both back away from my phone and take deep breaths. We make eye contact once again.

We burst out in laughter, we're on the floor rolling in laughter.

Suddenly I pause, my whole body freezes and I look toward tom. "I DIDN'T SAY IT WAS ME."

I run to the phone and type once again to add to the other text.

'Hi'

'This is Aria :)'

*Sends*

Tom yells "WHY THE SMILEY FACE ARIA." I soon realized what I had just done. "OH NO." Once again, we back away from the phone and take deep breaths. "Just order the pizza Tom." As Tom pulls out his phone we hear my phone ding. I wipe my sweaty palms on Tom and grab my phone.

'Heyy Ariaa :)'

He sent me a smiley face back. "HE SENT ME A SMILEY FACE BACK." I see Tom spin around and make a mischievous face while rubbing his hands together. "Perfect."

I disregard Tom's actions and text back.

'How was your hot-chocolate and glazed donut?'

I set my phone down as I hear the doorbell ring. I noticed Tom wasn't in the living room, so I grabbed his wallet and went to pay for the pizza. I opened the door and reviled the same tall, dark-haired boy from last time. "Jonah!" I smiled at his presence. He smiled back. I noticed he was empty-handed, so I made a slightly confused expression. "Hey Aria! Uh- the 5 pizzas are in my car so I'll get them in a second." My jaw drops. "5 pizzas?-" "Yeah, didn't you order 5 pizzas?" Damn it Tom. Jonah furrowed his eyebrows and I just decided to go with it, Tom's wallet was in my hands after all. "Yeah, yeah I did; sorry I just spaced out for a sec." I paid him first so that it was easier to hold the pizzas. Jonah passed me the 5 pizza boxes and we said our goodbyes. I struggled with the boxes and walked inside. I could hear Tom laugh at me from the kitchen. I placed the boxes on the kitchen counter and smiled. "Thanks for this" I toss him back his wallet and laughed at his facial expression. I guess he forgot he was the one paying.
