Assamu- Alyakuim,
Qualifications for prayer. What this means is the requirement that has to be met before beginning the salat. There are nine of them.
1. Shahada~ this mean a person must be a Muslim.
2. Mentally stable~ they are stable
3. The age of seven~ when children's reach the age of seven, you should make a habit for the kids to begin learning the prayers.
4. Cleansness ( tahara) ,~ purity from body, prayer mat, and clothe.
5. Major and minor impurity~ from major impurity you must make ghusl. Major impurity includes intercourses, menstruation, when a women gives birth. For minor impurity's such as farting, using the bathroom. You simply make wudu.
6. Covering ~ for men's it is required to cover from the naval to the knee. As for women she must cover everything with the exception of the face and hands.
7. On time~ fulfilling the prayers on the prescribed time and not delaying it.
8. Qibla~ this means facing the Kaaba when performing salat.
9. Niya ( intention) ~ must utter your intent to fulfill the prayers.
