I walked away from the table and waited in line for my food. I heard a familiar voice from behind me. I slightly turned around and noticed that it was Ellie. She was talking about her new crush or whatever. Guys fall for her so easily but she just treats them like toys and yet the girls who would treat the guys right wouldn't get any attention. "So you guys know Finn Wolfhard? I think I'm starting to like him. We have been texting for a while and he's actually really nice and cool," she said to her friends. I froze when I heard her say Finn.
He recently told me that he likes her and that he has for a long time even though he knows that I don't like her at all. I was really confused when he told me that because before he would say that he doesn't like her and that he wouldn't want to talk to her. "Hey Sarah, it's your turn to get food!" Ellie yelled out with an attitude. I looked back at her and rolled my eyes. The audacity of this girl. She knows that Finn and I are close and she just had to say that when I was near her? She definitely did that on purpose. I just wanted to go home at this point. Am I getting jealous? No, I can't be. If something was going to happen between us, it would've happened by now. Right? I got my food and went back to our table. "Guess what I just heard!" I yelled out with annoyance.
"What?" Joshua and Finn said in sync. "Ellie Phillips was just talking about her little crush on the one and only, Finn Wolfhard" I blurted out, looking Finn right in the eyes. "Seriously?" Finn asked timidly. "You've had a crush on her for the longest time and now I guess she feels the same way, so what are you going to do?" I said with a little sassy tone. Joshua spoke up, "Wait who is Ellie Phillips?"
I looked over to Finn, expecting him to answer. "Um basically, she's the queen bee of our grade. Her and Sarah aren't necessarily on good terms ," Finn answered looking a little guilty. I rolled my eyes, "Yeah and she's not exactly the best person but whatever. For some reason Finn likes her. Whatever makes him happy I guess." I could see that Joshua and Finn had no idea why I was acting like this.
"Anyways, I have to go to the library for... stuff. See y'all later," I walked off and saw Joshua and Finn's faces, they looked puzzled. I don't know where I was going to go, but I just wanted to leave school so badly. Obviously I'm not going to though, because I would get into so much trouble. I was on the verge of tears, for some reason. I ran to the nearest bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. What is happening? Why am I feeling like this?
"Hey are you okay?" a random voice called out causing me to flinch. I looked behind me and saw a gorgeous brunette girl with brown eyes. "Yeah, I'm okay. Thanks for asking," I replied back to her as I wiped my tears away. I don't why but when someone asks me when I'm okay, I just melt down and start crying. "No you're not, what's wrong?" she asked and got closer to me. "I don't even know. Like genuinely I don't know why I'm crying. Is it because I'm jealous that my best friend might get a girlfriend? I don't know," I couldn't hold in my tears any longer. "Ouch, from experience though, liking your best friend is not a good idea. Just a little advice you should know," she said while giving a light smile. We sat in silence for a bit as I cried and she sat by me for support. The bell then rang for us to go back to our classes.
We both got up from the floor and cleaned up. We said bye to each other before I realized we didn't even know each other's names. "Wait! What's your name?" I asked her as she was beginning to walk out of the bathroom. "Oh right! I'm Olivia. We should give each other our numbers so we can talk more about our problems," she laughed. "Yeah! I'm Sarah by the way," I said back with a giggle. We gave each other our phones and typed in our numbers and went to back to our classes. Wow I didn't expect to make two new friends today.
The rest of the school day was a blur. Finn had practice so we couldn't walk home together. Which was fine because I just wanted to have some quiet time to clear my thoughts. When I got home I got a text from Jack. Also known as, "the party boy". Jack and I aren't necessarily friends, we're more like acquaintances. He's always been super nice to me but we just hang out with different people

Jack Hey! I'm having a back to school party tonight! At my house 9 to whenever! Be there!
Sarah i'll be there, but can i bring a friend?
Jack duh, of course. this will be the biggest party of the year, mark my words. but who, cause like... isn't your only friend finn?
Sarah touché... but no it's not finn

Honestly I would usually decline, but I just felt like going this time. I needed something else to think about other than Finn. I didn't want to go alone, so I went over and knocked at Joshua's door. Hopefully he wouldn't think I'm a creep because we haven't really talked about the fact that we're neighbors. He answered the door and I told him about the party, and he agreed to go with me, surprisingly. "Alright see you at 9!" I said to him as I started walking back to my house to get ready. I would text Finn, but I assumed that Jack already did and he would just come on his own.
It's 2:50 pm so there is a lot of time I have to myself before the party. I took a shower and ate some mac and cheese. I watched some TV and before I knew it, someone rang on my doorbell. It was Joshua, he was wear a black and white striped sweater. How does he look so cute without even trying?

A car was also on my driveway. He told me that his birthday was a few days ago and that he's getting his car in a week, so I was very confused. "Um, so care to tell me whose car that is?" I questioned as I went to get my keys to lock my door. "It's my mom's, don't worry she let me drive it," he assured me as he opened the door for me. We're in for a wild ride.
