Todoroki's pov:
TW:  cursing??
Finally the school day was over, and now I didn't have to be constantly surrounded by idiots. I let out a huge sigh of relief as I grabbed my backpack and made my way to my favorite spot in this whole rundown town. The library. It's so quiet there and at the end of the day almost nobody is around to bother me. Just me and my thoughts, and intend to keep it that way. Once I opened the door to my paradise I instantly felt more clam and carefree. There was a warm inviting aura to the space that just made it seem like home. Suddenly very comfortable, I settled myself at a table and opened my book to reveal a wonderful world of superior fantasy. A world where everything always turns out okay in the end.

The book had absorbed my attention, and without realizing it I had been sitting there for almost an hour. "Shit," I cursed under my breath. Sis was expecting me home soon and I didn't want to worry her, so I marked my place in the book and walked out of the library with my bag in hand. As I walked the empty halls I heard a soft humming noise coming from the art room. "I didn't think anyone else stayed this late after school..." I told myself quietly.

Without actually thinking about the situation, I started walking towards the soft melody. Once I was close enough to see into the room I saw a green haired boy sitting by an easel. This was the same boy that Bakugo, the boy with the personality of an angry Pomeranian, was being rude to today in gym. I think he said that the boy's name was Deku; wow that really is an unfortunate name. His hair was a beautiful shade of emerald green that stuck out in perfect curly wisps. He had freckles that dusted his face along with a seemingly permanent pink blush on his cheeks. Not to mention the amazing painting he was currently working on, it was a bright watercolor sunflower in the center of a white canvas. He started to pick up his things, but I was still staring at the painting in awe.

"Wow..." I said unintentionally out loud. Apparently he heard me because he jumped out of his chair, and spilled the dirty paint water that was in his hand all over himself. "I'm so sorry," I said running over to him. "I was just admiring your painting I didn't mean to scare you."

"I-It's alright," Deku sighed with his eyes on the ground.

"Damn you're soaked, this is all my fault I'm sorry."

"Y-you can just leave and I'll go to the bathroom to clean up," Deku said pushing past me and walking out the door.

"I'll come help you," I shouted running down the hallway to keep up with him. He looked back at me and slowed his pace allowing me to walk with him. I took a second to chill out and catch my breath again (ba dum ching ya know cause in the show his quirk is half ice... I think I'm funny) while he played awkwardly with his sweatshirt sleeves.

"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with your girlfriend or something?" He finally asked.

"Girlfriend? Oh I guess I technically have one of those," I say with a cold chuckle.

"Technically?" He said confusion written clearly on his face.

The truth was that Momo and I weren't actually dating. She was the one person I could always count on to be there for me. Her and I have been friends since primary school, and she truly understands me in ways most people can't. Momo had always been obsessed with getting people to like her, so she proposed an idea to me the summer of last year. She suggested that we pretend to be in a relationship in order for her to gain popularity. I thought this was selfish and superficial, but I couldn't ignore that she had also done favors for me in the past. Keeping this in mind, I hesitantly agreed. I swore that I would never tell a single soul of our arrangement, but something about this boy made me want to trust him. Maybe it was his kind eyes or his bright smile...

"Hello?" Deku said waving a hand in-front of my face to get my attention.

"Oh yeah, well it's sort of a long story," I muttered.

"I've got time," he said kindly smiling and staring at me with those sparkling green eyes of his.

"Well we are more of glorified friends." I let out with a huff. "She said if we staged a relationship then people would like her more."

"That seems really selfish," he said eyes wide with empathy.

"I guess it is but we've been best friends for a really long time. I love her and there's not much I wouldn't do for my best friend." I could feel his pitying eyes on me but I didn't want to look up and see them.

The rest of the way to the bathroom there was a comfortable silence between the two of us. Being with him isn't awkward, in fact it almost feels like when I'm in the library. It feels like I'm home. "We should probably do something about your shirt. You're kind of covered in paint water," I said thinking about how I could help. Oh I have an idea. "Here you can take my shirt," I offered taking off my black turtle neck and handing it to him while hiding my wrist behind my back.

"O-Okay," he said shyly.

I couldn't help but notice that he was stealing glances at me every chance he got. Damn he was cute. He stripped his wet sweatshirt off carefully and slipped his head through the neck hole of my shirt. Once he had the turtleneck on we stood there for couple seconds. I stared deep into the dark forest green pools that were his eyes, and subconsciously took a step closer to him. He leaned in towards me until our faces were almost touching and tension filled the air.

Suddenly, I pulled away and took a step back. "Um I really need to get home," I said pulling my PE shirt out of my bag and putting it on.

"Sure thing!" Deku said cheerfully, yet there was a hint of sadness in his eyes. "But before you go would you mind exchanging numbers? I have a feeling we're going to be friends!" He said once again hiding behind a happy persona.

"Alright," I agreed handing him my phone. He typed in his number while I did the same for him in his phone. We returned each other's belongings and I grabbed my bag to leave. I looked up at him and his fluffy bangs fell into his eyes like something out of a movie. His pink lips curved up into a smile and I looked at his beautiful eyes once again. This boy would be the death of me, and I don't mind.
