In a flower field, a young woman laid, staring up at the clear blue sky. She watched as birds flied across and butterflies fluttered in the wind.
"(Y/N)!" A deep voice called out to her, causing the (H/C) female to shoot up. There she saw her childhood friend, Jero, running towards her. "(Y/N), you shouldn't be out here alone! You know how dangerous it is for a woman to be away from the village unprotected! What if a monster snatched you up!?" The tanned man shouted, worried for his friend. Jero was one of the village warriors who protected the village when monsters would attack in hopes of catching a mate. He was muscular and battle hardened, and had fought the most vicious of monsters that threatened the women in their village.
"Sorry. I like the flowers." She replies as she picks herself off the ground. Her brunette haired friend scoffs and grabs her hand with his larger one.
"Well, we need to get back now." Jero sighed as he dragged the smaller woman back in the direction of their home. However the (s/C) female yanked herself out of the green eyed man's grasp.
"I'm not helpless, you meathead!" She yelled angrily at the man. He growled in frustration and turned to his old friend.
"It's my job to protect the women of the village, and you are no exception!" He snapped back as he once again reached out to her, but she backed away. "Why are you so stubborn!"
"Maybe it's because I have you constantly breathing down my neck! I can protect mysel-" She halted her speech to listen to a loud flap. She was about to ask if Jero heard what she heard, but was interrupted when her friend pushed her behind him and drew his sword. "Wha-!"
"HARPY!" Jero yelled as he slashed his sword in the direction of the feathered monster. It let out a screech and brought its talons down onto the tall man's shoulder , causing Jero to drop his sword. "(Y/N), RUN!" He shouted to her. The woman did as told and bolted in the direction of the village, the sound of angry flaps close behind her. She let out a pained cry as talons dug into her flesh and her feet was lifted from the ground.
"Jero!" She cried out as she was carried higher and higher into the air. She thrashed around in the harpy's grasp. She looked back to see her old friend chasing after her, but she was so far out of reach now.;
"(Y/N)!)" He shouted out to her as he continued to chase after her, but she just got farther and farther. "(Y/N)!" He cried out a final time for his now lost friend as he collapsed in the flower field in remorse.
The wind beat against (Y/N)'s face as the harpy dragged her, presumably back to his nest. "Please let me go!" She cried to her captor. She received no answer though. The light grey harpy only glanced down at her with large, fiery, yellow eyes. In the distance she could start to see what seems to be like more harpies, flying around a large canopy of trees. The grey harpy swooped down and was heading towards the inside of the canopy. (Y/N) winced as she got closer to the group of trees, expecting to hit a few branches, however she was gently set down in something soft. She opened her (E/C) orbs to see she was in what she assumed was the creatures nest. The grey harpy sat on the edge of his nest and watched her curiously. (Y/N) looked up at the male and took in his appearance. His face was vaguely human with large yellow eyes and a sharp, black, beak that counted as his nose and mouth. He had pale skin on the parts of his face that wasn't feathered , and his chest was bare of feathers and his most human trait. His arms was his wings and his legs and feet were completely bird. He was shorter than the average male, about 5'4 or so, but it was quiet obvious he was not to be messed with.
"What is your name, female?" He inquired as he stepped into the nest. He stepped closer to her, never breaking his gaze with her.
"That's none of your concern." She hisses at the small male, who returned hiss back.
"It is my concern! You are going to be my wife, after all." He growled in a agitated tone. His taloned foot rested down on the (S/C) woman's chest and pushed her down into the down covered nest. He bent his beaked face down to hers. "So tell me your name."
She glared up at the male angrily."...(Y/N)..." She mumbled. The harpy lifted his foot off of her chest.
"I am Rus." He informed the female.
"I didn't ask." She snapped at him. He ruffled his feathers in frustration.
"I have a lot of work to do before we can mate, don't I?" He snarled as he dug his claws into the twigs and feathers angrily.
"I'm not going to 'mate' with you. Not now, not ever." She snapped at him. The harpy let out a furious screech and flew out of the nest, leaving the woman alone, where she finally broke down into a sob. She balled up into the fetal position and sobbed into her knees.
