I hadn't had many friends when I moved to Derry, none actually. I remember on my first day no one even talked to me, well besides the teachers. As I made my way to my next class I felt someone shove the books out of my hand. Shocked I stepped back and looked up at the boy in disbelief. It was a blonde boy who had the most horrible mullet I'd ever seen. A smirk spread across his face, he looked satisfied with the damage he had done.

I bent down to gather everything that had smashed on the floor. As I reached out to grab my notebook the boy set his boot on top of it and looked down at me with a glare. Suddenly I heard the voice of a girl from behind him. "Fuck off bowers, don't be such a prick" the girl scolded, flipping the boy off. "What are you gonna do about it Bowie" he laughed, before he could throw anymore insults the girls fist met his face with a hard thud.

Gasping in shock I hurried to grab my stuff and get up. "Your gonna be sorry you did that" the boy said now holding his bloodied nose as he walked away. The girl made her way over to me and picked up the notebook I hadn't seen off the ground and dusted it off, handing it to me. "Don't let that asshole bother you" she said. "Thanks" I said giving a small smile and putting everything in my bag. "Your the new girl right" she asked. "Ya, this is my first day, as you can see it's going so well" I laughed in annoyance. "Don't even worry about it, we just don't get a lot of new kids" she explained with a shrug. "I can tell"

"Come eat lunch with me, people won't mess with you if your with me" she suggested nodding towards the Cafe. I squinted at her trying to figure out if it was a joke or not. "Really" I questioned nervously. "Ya come on" she sighed hooking her arm with mine and heading towards the lunch room. "Oh I'm Greta by the way." She said smiling at me. "I'm Posie, nice to meet you"
