After getting dressed, I headed downstairs into the tea room where Break is waiting for me. "There's the birthday girl I've been waiting for," smiles Break. "Sorry I took so long," I bow. "Don't apologize, it's quite alright, my dear." Break pulled out a chair for me,"Have a seat and relax." "Thank you, Break." "You are certainly welcome, Miss Rain." Break pours us some tea and seats himself across from me. "What did you want to talk to me about, Break?" I ask, quietly stirring a sugar cube into my tea. "You are aware of Raven's past, correct?" I nod respectively. "Well it seems that it's beginning to catch up with him." "What does that mean?" Break sips his tea before enlightening me. "It simply means that the choices he has made in the past are coming back to haunt him, my dear." "Master has certainly made a lot of bad decisions in his time I suppose. I wonder if I'm one of them." "Nonsense, you are by far the best decision Raven has ever made."
"I'm not so sure, Break. Master and I have had quite a rough relationship these last 8 years. I hide from him, I disobey him, sometimes I even run from him. In the car last night, I ignored him to the point of tears; I fear I've been a terrible burden on him." I sigh, feeling very guilty. "Cheer up, my dear." "How do you suppose I do that? Master has said it numerous times before that he shouldn't have taken me in. "Indeed you may have hurt him, but you're also hurting yourself, Rain." "What do you mean?" "When you do these things to Raven, he tends to do bodily harm to you, correct?" I nod,"Correct." "If you stop running, hiding, and ignoring him, he won't do those things to you." I thought about what Break had just said and decided to test his theory. When Master comes home, things between us will be different.
