Present
Quin's Point of view
I AM SMILING ear to ear while waiting for the man of my life. I looked around our garden.
I prepared a classic rose petal trail from our gate to the garden; put on Christmas lights; trail of our photos; and of course, a banner saying: Happy 2nd Anniversary Love.
This is my first time setting up a surprise for him because he has always been the sweet one on our relationship for the past two years.
"I'll remove your blindfold na ah. In the count of three", Josh said.
"One."
"Two."
"Three."
I was shocked when I saw where Josh brought me for our first monthsary. We are going on a helicopter ride, omg!
"Happy monthsary, love", he said and circled his arms around my waist. "I love you."
"I love you so much, Josh", I answered and hug him tighter.
"Take my jacket, love. It's cold outside."
We are celebrating our 5th monthsary in Baguio. Josh set this all up. Still the sweetest.
"Watch your step", Josh said while guiding me down the stairs.
We just watched an opera for our 10th monthsary. This guy's just full of surprises.
"Health is wealth. Eat this before leaving. I'm going to check. Anyway, good morning beautiful. I love you"
I smiled as I saw a note on our coffee table. Josh cooked breakfast for me because my parents were out of the country; he'd always visit me so I won't feel alone. I just love this guy so much. Couldn't imagine life without him.
I was busy reminiscing when Kim poked me.
"Mamaya ka na mag-throwback drama d'yan Madame padating na jowa mo," she said.
Nataranta ako sa narinig ko. God, he's coming.
I gathered all of our friends on our garden to celebrate this special day with us. They've been always there for us; to support and guide us.
I am holding our favorite mocha cake while waiting for him.
The moment I saw him walking towards me, I can't help but smile and adore him. I never thought this guy would love me. He is too good to be true.
When he is finally in front of me I greeted him, "Happy 2nd anniversary, Love."
I am waiting for him to respond; smiling widely.
Minutes passed but he's still just looking at me. He didn't even bother looking around or gazing at the people watching us. He didn't even smile. My brows furrowed.
"What's wrong, Josh," I asked him.
"Ah-I'm l-leaving you."
His words came out soft, but their punch was anything but; all the air left my lungs in a single breath.
"Y-you're leaving me?"
He didn't say anything. He just stared at me with his soft brown eyes, his hands clenched at his sides. He presses his lips together, clenching his jaw, and shakes his head once.
