It's been one week and one day since that day at Starbucks when Luke and I got to know each other.
Since then we've been texting nonstop, and I've gone to Starbucks early with Luke every day.
Luke has a car, thank god. We've went on two dates, but if we weren't on a date, we were just hanging out wherever. Last night Luke showed me his special place, and now it's ours to share.
It's just an old abandoned playground close to where my apartment is, but it's special to Luke and I. Over the past week, I've gotten to know Luke even better, and he seems to really care about me so far, as I do him.
It's nine a.m. on a Saturday, and Luke has just texted me saying how he misses me. Even though I saw him just twelve hours ago, I honestly miss his company too.
I am interrupted from my thoughts as my phone rings. I pick it up off of my couch and answer it.
"Yeah?"
"Hello, M. I was just calling to make sure you know that you're extremely beautiful, and maybe see if I could pick you up soon so I can see you?"
"Good morning, Lucas. I've been up for awhile, just waiting for you to ask."
"So is that a yes?" I can almost see him smile from my phone.
"Yeah, it's a yes."
"Wonderful, I'll be there soon." He ends the call right after his sentence.
I run up the stairs into my bathroom to make sure I look okay. Luke still hasn't noticed my scars, and I'm glad he hasn't.
I have tons of long sleeved shirts, so I doubt he'll notice anytime soon. But if he does, I must make sure he knows that I haven't hurt myself since I met him.
I brush my hair and my teeth, deciding that I look okay.
As I'm walking down the stairs, I hear the doorbell ring.
I open the door and look up to see a smirking Luke, eyes covered with sunglasses. I notice his black short sleeved tee shirt, with the word Sheriff in white; accompanied by his holy black skinny jeans. Also a backward SnapBack, and boots.
"Wow, you look gorgeous." He smiles, leaning against the door frame. I feel my cheeks heat up.
"Shut up, Luke. Thank you." I smile back at him.
"You ready?"
"Yeah. Let's go." I make sure I have the keys and shut the door behind me before locking it.
"So, where are we going anyway?" I ask Luke as we walk to his car.
He unlocks the car, opening my door for me before crawling into the driver's seat. We both slam our doors shut and buckle our seatbelts, and Luke starts the car.
"Dunno. Where do you wanna go?" He asks me as we drive off.
"Uh, I don't exactly care... Just whatever you wanna do is fine." I just wanted to get out of that place, and be with Luke.
"Well, we could just do whatever for now, and then later we could go to... like... Have you ever been to a rave?" He asks.
"Rave... What's that?"
"Um, well it's kind of like a club... like, a massive party or something. With DJ's and sometimes live performers and stuff." He looks over at me.
"A club?" Im kind of nervous, I've never been to or done anything like that.
"Hey, we don't have to do that if you don't want to. And it's not really like a regular club or whatever, like sometimes they have these hugs bowls of glow in the dark shit, and you just put it all over you, it's kinda cool."
"So you go to these things like... all the time?" I ask.
"No, not really. You could just say I've been to a few, with my friends and stuff."
"Okay." I say, making up my mind.
"Okay what?"
"I'll go to this rave thing. But I'm just warning you, I don't do very good with so many people." I reply.
"Oh really? You'll really go with me?"
"Yes Luke. Stop before I change my mind." I smile at the window, looking away from Luke.
"But like, I'm only seventeen. Do I need a fake I.D or something? Wait, you're only eighteen Lucas Robert, how do you drink at these things?" I ask teasingly.
"Well, it's no problem really. It's not like there's cops at that sort of thing, so I just do it. And I don't do drugs by the way." He says seriously.
"I didn't think you did, Luke. And to be honest I'm actually quite excited to just let go and have fun." I smile, and he grabs my hand, squeezing it.
"That's good, and I guarantee you'll love it. If you don't, I'll take you home I promise." He adds.
"You're a really great guy, Luke. How come you didn't have a girlfriend when I met you?"
"Funny story, I haven't really had a girlfriend since year eight back home... or a serious one ever." He half-chuckles. "But none of that matters because I have you now, yeah?"
Oh wow. I didn't really think that he saw me as his girlfriend already. I have a strange feeling that I'm okay with that, though. It's comforting.
"Yeah." I smile at him. "I'll tell you a little secret of mine, sunshine. I've never even had a boyfriend of any kind, like ever." I turn my head to the side a little bit.
"What? Not even in grade school? How could none of those idiot little boys want such an amazingly beautiful girl like you?" He smiles a bit to himself.
"For starters, I was the shyest child ever born, and they didn't like how I always wore black and kept my hair in my face." I giggle a little at the memory.
"Well, for your information, I quite like it. And I sure do like you."
"I like you too, Luke." I reach over and boop his nose.
We finally arrive at Luke's apartment and go inside. We spend basically the whole day playing video games and talking about life.
When it gets late, Luke decides we should get going, and have a good time.
