"Hey Carrie." Mike said as I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"Hi"

"How are you feeling?"

"Fine"

"Um...... Never mind."

"Mike you can say what ever you want to me. I'm not a ticking time bomb. You don't have to feel like your walking on egg shells around me, so just say what is on your mind."

"Well, you have just been really depressed lately and you stopped taking your meds. I'm worried about you, Carrie."

"Mike, I don't need my meds. I can get out of my depression on my own. I don't want some pill to make me happy, I want to be happy. Sure it is going to take some time to get there, but I want to do it on my own, I don't know why you want me to take them anyways."

"Because this isn't healthy."

"You know all I want to be is healthy. I have always taken vitamins and I work out and I eat right. Don't you think that I don't want me to be depressed too, but if the pills make me happy on the outside that doesn't mean I'm happy on the inside. I want to work my way through this instead of pretending. If your not going to stand by me then don't, but I'm trying, Mike. I even started talking to Miranda."

"Carrie, I love you and I am going to stand by you no matter what. That is so great that you are finally getting that stuff off of your chest. Look, I have to get going, but if you need to talk I will always be ready to listen. I'll be here at five to pick you up for dinner and dress nice."

"Okay." Me and Mike have always made time for each other in our busy schedules. Every Friday night we go out for a date night. It is so nice, just me and him.

"Hey Miranda. What's up?"

"Are you busy?"

"No. Why?"

"Because I have the day off and I'm going to come over and help you get ready for your date."

"Miranda? Mike and I are married, it is not like it is that big of a deal what I wear."

"Well, I'm coming over, so be ready."

"Did Mike put you up to this?"

"Something like that. I'll be there in five."

"Kay."

Wow. I really love my husband and best friend, but I really can get ready on my own. He must be taking me some place really special in order for him to send Miranda over here to make sure I wear the appropriate clothing. I can't believe I forgot to ask him where we were going.

"Hey." I said opening the door.

"Hey yourself, so let's get started."

"Where are we going, anyways?"

"I don't know, he just said to make sure you dressed really nice, but not to black tie eventish. I'm guessing your going to a nice restaurant and then to something else, so we'll just stick with a short dress. Let's go."

We head up to Mike and I's room and into the walk in closet. We search for dresses that fit that little bit of information we have.

"What about this?" Miranda asks.

"Yeah, that's cute. I really wish I knew where we are going."

We search around for a few more minutes, but decide on the dress Miranda picked out earlier. It is short, but not to short, coming just above my knees. It is white with about two inch wide straps. It has rushing in the top of the bodist and then a strap of bling. It flows out from there into ruffles. We chose blinged out, open toed, heels.

I took a shower and then Miranda started on my hair. She curled it and left is down, but she took the tiny section of the front of my hair and pinned it back with a blinged out clip. Then she did my makeup. I wasn't a loud to see it until she was done. When I turned around, so I was facing the mirror, I was stunned. It was very natural and not to much, but still enough so it brought out all my best facial features. After that I put on my dress, being very careful not to ruin my makeup or hair.

"Wow." Miranda said as I came out of the bathroom.

I looked really gorgeous, but was it to much?

"Is it to much?" I asked.

"Definitely not. You look beautiful."

"Thanks. I wonder where he is taking me?"

"No clue, but where ever you go he won't be able to keep his eye off you."

"Miranda!"

"What?"

"Hey Carrie. You ready?" Mike asked as I stepped down stairs. He was waiting at the bottom and Miranda had just left.

"Yup." I say popping the p.

"Wow. You look great"

"Thanks." I say. "Is it to much"

"No, it's great." He says as we head to the car.

We get in the car and buckle up.

"So where are we going anyways?"

"Can't tell, I want it to be a surprise."

"Is it going to be corny, because you know I don't like corny."

"Maybe a little bit, but you'll like it. I promise."

"Okay. I trust you."

We pull up to this restaurant and walk in. It is really gorgeous inside and I can't help but notice people staring at us. We go up to the counter.

"Order for Fisher." Mike says.

"Okay. Be right up." The waitress says.

"You ordered. Why?" I ask.

"You'll see."

As we walk out the door and back to the car Mike says, "Did you see everybody staring at you. It made me jealous for a little bit, but then I realized that your mine and they can just dream."

"Hey, you know it ain't my fault when I'm walking, jaws dropping, like ooo, ahh."

"Hey. Isn't that a part from Miranda's
new song that she was telling us about."

"Yup, but it's so true."

"Yeah it is."
