War.
Such an ugly word.
Such an ugly connotation.
Such harshness buried within.
But, beauty is relative.
War is relative.
What is war?
Is it between two countries?
Between two people?
Or is it somehow deeper than that?
For there is a war every day,
Every moment in time.
There is a war within you.
There is a war within me.
There is a war within the earth.
A war within the sky.
There is a war between love and hate.
There is a war between sadness and happiness.
There is a war occurring inside my soul.
There is a battle as ugly as anything on a battlefield.
Do I bear scars?
Only on the inside.
Does this make them any less real?
Only to those too scared to understand.
But most importantly,
There is peace.
Love and hate can find peace.
Sadness and happiness can find peace.
My soul can find peace.
Your soul can find peace.
For the war as physical as it may be,
Can leave just as many invisible scars,
As any real battle can.
But there are so few who understand,
What those scars do to those that bear the pain,
To those that live with it every single day.
