(Jason's point of view)

I've taken a liking to this city. With all its creatures. I shouldn't even talk, after all I'm dead. Well undead that is, I'm a vampire. Born on June 2, 1839, I was turned at 25 years old, dying from being shot. My now good friend Declan turned me. He came across me lying in the field going over my life and coming to terms with the fact that I was going to die; alone in a field. What would they tell my parents when someone found me and identified me? They'll be okay, I'll watch over them I told myself. I heard something move, but I thought it was probably a wild animal. Just then I saw a man's face appear over me, my vision was getting blurry, probably from the blood loss and I was feeling cold for a warm summer night. He was speaking but I barely made out the words, but I heard the words.

"I have a good feeling about you. I'll make sure you're okay." I remember chuckling at that statement.

Suddenly I felt the wind rushing by me and I was being carried. I groaned from the pain. Not long after, I was put down. It was dark. I felt a cup being pressed to my lips and I greedily drank the contents.

"I really hope you don't hate me for what I'm about to do to you. I will still help you though. My name's Declan." He told me.

I was so weak at this point I barely nodded. To my horror, he bit his arm and put it to my mouth telling me to drink. I refused but he held my head.

"Drink, it'll make you feel better, I promise." I drank the blood until I felt him gently pull his arm away. I started to feel a bit better.

"Now sleep and you'll wake up feeling better." He whispered.

I closed my eyes until I felt him pick up my head and jerk it to the side. I woke up a day later, according to him. I opened my eyes and noticed that I could see particles and light so refined. I could hear people but no one was in the room. Suddenly a man came into the room. He had dirty blonde hair, about 5"11, well built body, and piercing green/hazel eyes. The hazel wasn't much but for some reason I could see it perfectly. He approached cautiously,

"I'm glad you're up, don't be scared of me, my name's Declan, do you remember anything?" For some reason I felt like I remembered him and so I nodded my head.

"I remember I was shot and dying in a field. I should be dead by now, how am I alive?" I asked, noticing something about my voice seemed off to me. It sounded more husky.

"I found you in the field, I had smelt blood. You were on the brink of death, I picked you up and brought you to my home. I gave you water and fed you my blood, and then I snapped your neck. You are now in transition to being what I am, which is a Vampire." He stated calmly.

A what? What the hell is he talking about? Creatures like that don't exist, they're stories I used to hear as a child.

"A what? That's not possible, such a thing doesn't exist. You're crazy!" I exclaim.

"I know you know that you've noticed that you can see things that people wouldn't be able to see. I know you can see the hazel in my eyes, however a normal person wouldn't be able to. You can hear people talking as if they're in the room but they're not here. I was hoping that you wouldn't hate me for what I've done to you. If you choose to complete your transition, I will teach you all that I know, and the fact that you'll be immortal we can learn a lot more together. However if you don't want to be a vampire, I can easily kill you should you wish." He explains.

I think. To live forever and explore things, travel wherever I choose.

"I want to be a vampire." I tell him. "Are you sure?" He asks me. "Yes, I want to take the second chance I've been given, I want to explore the world, and learn what I can about life. I get to see my parents again." I tell him with a smile on my face. He looks at me with an enthusiastic look but I could tell that something was off.
