Chapter three

A portal appears somewhere within the United States as a girl with brunette hair walks out of the portal as it closes. "Hmm, this is the 5th one I've been to. Let's see if they are here." I head out of the ally way and look around. It seems I'm in a northern state near the ocean. A ton of cars sit idle in the streets waiting for traffic to move and a couple of rude commuters yell at each other for not watching where they are going. Looking around I see a bookstore with an up-and-coming-author display.

I decide to head over to see what books have matched with the previous locations. Inspecting the books and titles closer I noticed a book named "UnderTale" by Chise Tistar. "Hmm Interesting i wonder if it's the Tistar I know or if it's another one." I guess I should try to find the author and ask them myself. I head inside the bookstore and grab the book looking through the story and then back to the front of it to find the publication and when it was published. "Hmmm, Night Baron Publishing, Published March of last year. It seems I must find out where Night Baron Publishing is. In my last location I think I remember seeing it near a city named Hosu in Japan."

I head back out of the store and into the nearest ally then I create a portal to Hosu city in an alleyway near a train station. "This should be a good starting place." I start to walk around the city looking for Night Baron Publishing and eventually grab a map of the city. "Well it seems it's not in this city. I need to find an info desk and ask what city it is in." After finding one and asking for directions I head to the train station and to Musutafu city. After a boring train ride I make my way to Night Baron Publishing. I enter the business and ask the receptionist for more information on Chise Tistar.

"Alright how much will it cost for the address of Chise Tistar?" After a bit of bargaining she finally gives me the address the author uses for fan mail. I leave the publishing building and head into an alleyway next to it. Entering the alley I see a mugger holding a woman at quirk point telling her to give him everything she has. I sigh and create a portal under the man sending him to my void to punish and take to the police later. The woman runs up to me thanking me profusely as I just wave her off, until she asks for my name. "My name, I don't tell people my name, but my hero name is The Voidling is that enough?" She nods then heads off to the streets.

I decided to use a portal to go near the address the lady had given me. After walking out of my portal I see an old well loved building named the Mayou Kodomo orphanage. "Hmm interesting place to pick up fan mail. I wonder why they chose an orphanage, maybe they didn't want their real address getting out. It would be the smartest thing. I will just have to watch until someone leaves with a bunch of fan mail." After a while of watching from the shadows I see two girls heading to the orphanage, one girl has a neko based mutation and the other, a wing based mutation. They talk about how well a book called "Finding Paradise" has been selling and that "UnderTale" has recently been translated to English.

I don't know their name but the winged girls nickname turns out to be Hoshi-chan, while the cat girls nickname is Hogo-sha-Chan. Star and guardian, I wonder if that's what they want their hero names to eventually be or if it may be like personality traits. They seem to know a lot about the books Chise Tistar has written about though. Just before the girls enter one of the matrons open the door to take out the trash. She calls out to the two girls.

"Chise, Koneko there you girls are Matron Suzuki wants you to know we got more letters, and that the kids want to hear "To the Moon" again tonight." Both girls respond at the same time so I can't figure out which one is Chise and which is Koneko. "Well Little star and Kitten what cute names, I wonder if this Chise is the author of the books. Hmmm, I guess I will have to stick around and keep an eye on them to figure this little mystery out."

***~~~time skip due to story time at the orphanage~~~***

*one month later*

I still watch Chise and Koneko from the shadows. They are both the authors they had used one's first name and another's last name. Today they had been talking about writing a new story during their lunch break. I have noticed Koneko zones out a lot and they use her daydreams as stories.Both girls are also top of their class. I sigh and stand up. Koneko seems so much like someone I used to know. I stretched and then decided to stop watching them for today. I create a portal and head into my void to punish my latest victim, another idiot who decided holding a child and mother at quirk point was a good idea.

Sorry it has been so long since the last post our editor left and I suck at writing in general sooo yeah...😅😅
