Gryffindor common room parties were known for being the best of the best. The one party that will leave you breathless, both literally and figuratively. And being a fellow Gryffindor, you were always dragged into these parties, but not once have you felt the ecstasy and excitement everyone felt. It just didn't feel like "the best of the best".
Today was no different. No, it was actually worse. Everyone was unbearingly quiet, like they're waiting for something juicy to happen this evening. But, no one was initiating anything. Not until your best friend Taehyung, and his quidditch friend decided to play some of quidditch boy's hometown games.
"Jungkook do you have any new muggle games we can play tonight?" Taehyung spoke, and though you were listening, you did not turn your head up to witness their conversation. It took a few moments till Jungkook spoke up, and the game he suggested was so dumb that you wanted to laugh. But, you remained quiet because you did not want to show them that you were paying attention to the conversation.
"Um, I remember one game but I've never played it before," Jungkook started, "It's this game where two people bite each end of a pepero stick. Both players nibble on the cookie and the first person who moves or flinches away loses." He takes his wand and summons a pink box. The box contains several cookie sticks dipped with strawberry filling. The sight of the strawberry pepero makes Taehyung grab the cookie pack from Jungkook's hand, eating several pieces before the game has even started.
"That's sounds stupid." You silently laughed, but apparently it was loud enough for Jungkook to hear. You and Jungkook weren't a fan of each other, apparently you were too uptight for him. As for you, he just had too much ego, it was too annoying to deal with him rubbing in everyone's faces that he is both excellent in being a muggle and a wizard. He was like Hermoine Granger, but not as smart as her.
"And I'm guessing you have a better plan?" he raised his eyebrows at you, testing you to think of a better game than what he suggested. But you were no God of Entertainment, so you just shrugged and ignored him.
"I thought so," Jungkook rolled his eyes at you.
"So who wants to play?" Taehyung asks while bits of the cookie is still in his mouth. The people who were also listening to their conversation did not volunteer to play the game. Maybe they also have the same thoughts as you, how the game is so stupid."Y/N? Jungkook? You guys want to play the first round?" Taehyung turns as you look up to see his questioning gaze and Jungkook's reaction. Your eyes widened. Jungkook also had the same reaction as you but as he takes in what Taehyung says, his lips curve up while his posture straightens in anticipation.
Just when you thought this night could get any worse.
If there was one disadvantage of being sorted into Gryffindor, it is having to always be brave even when you want to just cuddle up into a ball like a coward. Now you are faced in a dilemma to play that muggle game everyone was eager about or, walk out of the party and go back to bed. But you are after all a Gryffindor, you should be better than this. But you also don't want to face Jungkook. Peer pressure at it's finest.
A winning smirk forms on Jungkook's face as he expects you to not play the game, which gives you the final decision to go all out tonight, because you don't want to give Mr. Quidditch boy the satisfaction of you being a coward.
"Let's do it." Those three words slid out your mouth, full of regret, leaving Jungkook in shock and Taehyung in a grin. For them, the party just started.
Taehyung pulls out a pepero stick from the box and hands it to you. Sitting back down beside Jungkook, you cleared your throat. His eyes were slowly following the pepero stick that was enlaced on your fingers. Somehow you were calm amidst all the attention, it's just a game anyway, even if that game was with the guy you did not enjoy being with.Jungkook gulped as he leans forward, and you feel him being a hundred times closer though he only moved an inch. He opens his mouth to place the pepero stick, the close proximity giving you the ability to feel his breath. You closed your eyes, because though you are in this situation, you did not want to witness Jungkook being closer to you after each bite.
The Quidditch boy did most of the work. You just let the sweet flavoured strawberry melt in your mouth, allowing Jungkook to take small bites of the cookie. You don't see the smile on his face since you refuse to open your eyes.
As the gap between the both of your lips lessen, he snakes his hands at the back of your neck to angle your face, making you tense up from his touch. One more bite, and the two of you would be kissing, but you did not want to back down. You want to win this game even if your heart is already beating too quickly and even worse, you feel Jungkook's heartbeat the same pace as yours because he's not planning on turning away either.
And that's when you get your first kiss from muggle born Gryffindor, Jeon Jungkook.
