I didn't have to go to her, she came to me. I was in my room, lay on my bed, staring into space. Lily sat down on the bed with me. "Bella, i didn't mean it like you thought." She said apologetically. I didn't even flinch. "Bella please you don't understand. I know what I said was wrong but it's not like how I said it. Sometimes I don't understand how you do it. You have been through so much and I haven't."
I sat up now to listen to what she had to say. "I just got offended. I haven't had a traumatic past and when she asked if I was you, it made me feel like I was the weaker one and..."
"Lily, standing up to your sister is not weak." I cut her off. "I am terrified of Izzie, I could never stand up to her. You, like me, didn't have the best start in life. Just because mine was worse, doesn't mean we should forget yours."
We both hugged it out. "Izzie is listening." Lily whispered into my ear as we pulled out of the hug. "Oh no, another lecture." I said quietly. We went silent.
Lily and I crept over to the door and crouched down behind it. Suddenly Izzie burst in and that's when we legged it. Running across the lawn and laughing. I knew had my best friend back.
We went back over to where this all started, the lake. We took a seat on the edge and sat there for a few minutes. "What's the first plan for, operation boot Rebecca." Asked Lily laughing. I stayed silent.
"You don't like her do you?" Asked Lily sitting up.
I nodded, I did like her. "I don't know if you heard but she is taking me back to my home town on a trip."
"No way!" Shouted Lily and hugged me.
"You are invited to, Maura said we can go shopping!"
"You are joking!" Squealed Lily, it was the time to do our circle dance.
We linked hands, screaming and jumping around in a circle. "What's it called again?" Asked Lily. "Porlock!" I replied. Then I caught my scar in the corner of my eye. I knew I shouldn't have worn shorts. "Actually Lily, lets not go." I said getting up. I left lily sat by the lake, confused.
I was sat in my room looking at the ceiling again, when I heard a knock. It was Rebecca. "Do you want to come down to my office Bella?" She said peering round the door.
"Office?" I asked. She led me down the north gallery stairs. Directly beneath my room, one of the many spare rooms now had some laminate cheesy quotes on the door.
She led me inside to a large room with a relaxed vibe. It had bouncy yoga balls, bean bags, Buddhas and steamed air freshener machines.
There was a tall desk, with a little chair on the other side. Behind the desk was a door that led into Rebecca's quarters. She instructed me to take a seat at the small chair. She sat at the desk looking down at me.
"What's with the massive height difference?" I asked, confused. Rebecca smiled "I believe that if you feel I'm the authority, this nanny child relationship will work a lot better." I didn't like the sound of that.
