Avdol woke, darkness behind the doors suddenly shining brighter than day. A violent wind swirled outside, forcing the sliding door open. The glow was a bird wreathed in bright light, a shining Phoenix. The explosion was louder than the firework and echoed as though they were in a canyon. An envelope made from papyrus floated to the ground, a familiar was seal keeping the letter safe.
Everyone had woken due to the commotion, all rushing to Avdol as he picked up the letter. In rushed Aramaic was his name, the jagged loops making it harder to read. Turning the letter open, he brushed his thumb over the black wax, the faint texture of a medical symbol easy to decipher.
"What the hell was that?"Jotaro asked, surprised and suspicious.
"Surely DIO wouldn't send a servant directly to your house," Kakyoin commented as he looked around for a sign of an enemy.
"No, this letter is from an ally, and a dangerous one at that," Avdol said as he cracked the seal. "It is because of her Stand that we sent her into DIO's mansion." He pulled the letter, brows furrowing at the update she had desperately passed on.
Master Avdol,
I hope this letter finds you and yours in good spirits. I hate to admit that mine is fading. Since you've received this letter, DIO has managed to plant a flesh bud in me and it has successfully taken hold. Last I heard, he was going to keep me in Egypt, but thanks to the massive library the mansion has and the Stand Linguist I have strong reason to believe I will be in Singapore. You are being watched, though I do no know who they are. I had enough sense to send supplies ahead. They will be at the hotel that over looks the sea. I understand that will be more than one, but there is only one that is waiting for Caelan Jackson to show up. Please, keep this letter safe. It will be your guarantee into the hotel. I could very well be dead when you arrive, and that is better than me being alive as your enemy. When you arrive, travel in pairs. My glaring weaknesses will benefit you this time. Good luck on your travels.
Caelan
Avdol sighed as he handed the letter to Joseph Joestar, who nearly dropped it. "Avdol, it says something else now."
Master Joestar,
I want to go ahead and apologize for the hardships I may cause in the future. When this is over, if I'm still alive, I will remove Lady Holy's Stand as well as Master Kujo's should he wish it gone. If you are the leader I believe you to be, you will be able to identify the strongest in your group. Don't let me near them. Once something is taken, I can't return it. Good luck on your journey. Should we meet, I hope it's on friendlier terms than I'm imagining. Master Avdol will explain more. Stay safe,
Caelan
The others held the letter as well, just in case another message was hidden.
"Had I not met Caelan myself I would find this letter fishy," Joseph said as he pocketed the letter.
"If she's the one I'm thinking about, then it is a miracle she lasted this long," Kakyoin muttered.
"Since we know Jotaro can remove the flesh bud, we can help her. Her Stand is what we need to focus on. She will try to take Star Platinum," Avdol said.
"It sounds like she has some control if she was able to get that message to us. If she isn't the only enemy in Singapore, maybe we can get her to latch onto that one instead. If she is alone, we could possibly distract her somehow," Kakyoin suggested.
"We will be able to distract her with Mr. Joestar. If DIO was interested in Jotaro, she would have written him a letter as well."
"What is her Stand?" Jotaro asked.
"Her Stand's name is Specter Collector. She can remove Stands and hoard them in bottles, using them as she sees fit. She can only use it once before it is gone. She probably used fifty different Stands just to get that letter here."
The group stared at the fortune teller, letting his words sink in. How many Stands did she still have? Should they even go to Singapore? Her Stand would be useful after all.
