When I got out of the water, I knew.
I didn't win the race... I never did. I failed everyone.
LOL shit I was just kidding.
I think I won. I mean, by the looks of the crowd, I think I did.
Everyone was cheering and clapping. I saw someone walk over to the edge of the pool to help me out.
"Good job, kiddo." It was Michael Phelps.
I was speechless. I couldn't think straight. I think I just won. But I couldn't really see what happened next.
Everything moved in a blur... the frustrated Germans.. the pats on my wet back.. the muffled cheers... the towel put over me... the fast beating of my heart.....
I fell into the blackness.
