I once knew a woman

Not a girl
Not a lady but a woman
Her smile and laughter as bright as the sun
That shone everyday
Her eyes sparkling like stars on a clear moonlit night
So good was her mask that nobody saw
The demons she kept fighting inside
Trying her hardest not to lose
Day after day she smiled to show she was okay
Until that day she broke
And her tears that ran down her cheeks
Reminded me so much of the waterfalls I once saw
The beauty and sadness that was there
Till she ran out of tears
And all that was left was the tranquility of her heart
