It had been a few days since Lukas got sick. It seemed that he was starting to get better. Besides still having a fever and body aches, he could finally hold down food and not throw up five minutes after eating anything, he was able to talk again with only mild discomfort, and his coughs aren't as violent as they were the day he got sick.

Right now, he was in bed, wrapped up in thick blankets while snuggling his pillow.

Jesse wasn't there with him because 1. he got up earlier than Lukas (which was surprising since Lukas is usually the first one up before everyone else) 2. He had to make breakfast this time. And 3. He had to go to work.

The blond shifted slightly as he hugged the pillow more, sighing. He wished that he could be going out with everyone, or at least work on a new book he'd began writing not too long ago, but Jesse wouldn't allow him to be working or leaving the house; he was worried that Lukas would only get worse. And though the blond had argued with him, he just wouldn't be able to crack him.

All he could do for now was rest, and wait for his boyfriend to get home from work. Lukas didn't mind being alone much, as he has lived alone before, and he asked everyone to not disturb him while he was working. Though he wished that at least one person would talk to him.

Basically-the day after he got sick, everyone in the house left him to rest up, and they didn't want to get sick themselves.

*time skip*

It was now 5:15 pm. Lukas was fast asleep, still snuggling with the same pillow and snoring softly. Jesse had just come into the house, exhausted after a long, hard day of work;he was ready to jump into bed and perish (or pass out.) As he removed his jacket and shoes, he could hear Olivia and Axel arguing about something in the living room, and what sounded like Petra trying to defuse the situation. He already had a mild headache, and this certainly wasn't helping. He sighed angrily, walking into the living room, and the first thing he sees is a broken potion bottle on the floor with some of its contents left behind. Then he looked up at the three, still arguing on and on. It didn't stop. Petra's attempts to defuse the argument weren't working. Jesse's head began pounding. He got angrier with the more they argued, until...

"That's enough!"

He growled. Everybody stopped, and looked over at Jesse with pure shock and fear. They were in trouble now...

"Oh, J-Jesse! How was work?" Petra stuttered, smiling nervously.

"Would you guys care to explain what exactly happened while I was gone," The brunet spoke in an almost threatening tone as he crossed his arms, waiting for an answer.

Petra and Olivia glanced at Axel, and gestured for him to tell Jesse about the little "accident" from earlier. Axel groaned. "Why me?" He asked. He only received a glare from Petra, and Olivia hissed, "Just tell him!"

Olivia and Axel failed to notice how loud they were being while they argued with each other. They were loud enough to wake up Lukas. The blond sat up in bed, rubbed his eyes and blinked a few times. He got out of bed, walked over to the door, and leaned against it to see if he could hear what his friends were fighting about.

"It was an accident, I swear!" Axel shouted.

"But what are we going to do? Ivor said many times that it was a very important potion he wouldn't be able to replicate because of how difficult the ingredients would be to obtain!" Olivia yelled back.

'Wait, when did Ivor say anything about a potion? Why is it so important to him,' Lukas thought to himself as he continued to listen to Olivia and Axel yell at each other.

About a minute later, he heard Jesse yell, "That's enough!" Lukas flinched. Nobody liked when Jesse raised his voice, or when he was angry like this. Sometimes, everybody would be scared to even approach Jesse when he was angry because at one point, he managed to punch a hole right through a wall. The impact was enough to make his hand bleed. Lukas worries a lot about Jesse hurting himself while he's like this, so he'd do his best to calm him down.
But this time, he didn't want to interfere.

The blond snuck back into bed under the covers and shut his eyes, pretending to still be asleep in case Jesse came upstairs to the room.

And he was right. About half an hour later, Jesse came into the room as quietly, and calmly as possible. He could hear the door being shut and Jesse groaning. Lukas gasped when he felt part of the bed sink in.

Jesse froze for a second, then looked down at Lukas, who was awake, with a surprised look on his face. Lukas stared back at him.

"Hey, Jesse," Lukas spoke softly. "How was work?" He asked as he sat up and hugged the smaller male from behind.

Jesse couldn't help but to smile a little, feeling the warmth from his boyfriend. "It was pretty stressful, today..." He replied, placing his hand over Lukas'. Lukas sighs. "I'm sorry, would you like to talk about it?"

"No, maybe later," Jesse simply replied.

Lukas hummed. "It's all right, then. You should probably get some rest; you look exhausted." Jesse chuckled. "It's fine." Lukas shook his head. "Babe, you've been working non-stop this whole week. You've been cooking for everyone and doing all the chores around the house with no assistance. You're even working much longer now. It's about time you at least take a break. Please. You'll really burn yourself out soon if you don't stop to rest."

Jesse was about to protest, but because he was so tired and stressed out from work, and because he could hear the sadness and worry laced in Lukas' voice, he didn't have the heart to argue with him. "Fine."

Lukas let go of him, and Jesse laid down next to the blond, who held him close in his arms.

"I love you so much," Jesse mumbled as he wrapped an arm around Lukas.

Lukas chuckled. "I love you too, Jesse."

Hoo boy, this took me forever to get done...I am so sorry for not updating this book in such a long time! ;; I was so busy with school work and other things. Plus, writer's block hits hard man :( I hope you guys are at least enjoying this so far.
