'Xmas My Heart (Zerrie AU)

Part 2

"Sure." Zayn said trying his best not to sound excited. Perrie gave him a smile before drinking a sip of her Frappuccino. Zayn stood up and walked over the counter, where Harry was just as shocked as he was. "What just happened?"

"I think Perrie asked you out." Harry whispered, not wanting Perrie to hear them gossiping about her. Zayn couldn't even hide his smile. He glanced back, seeing Perrie talking with Jesy and showing her phone. 

"That is really awesome." Niall said staring at Leigh. If only he had the courage to ask her out, like Perrie just did with Zayn. But he knew things would change too much and he knows Leigh likes her freedom. 

"Hey! Why do you ask Leigh out. Stop waiting for her to make her move. Just go for it." Zayn advised and Harry shook his head. His friends are so lost when it comes to love. He was just glad that he and Louis were already figured out. They have been in a relationship for years now, and they did not have to worry about first dates and what so. 

"You two should stop being cowards and go chase love." Harry said and both Niall and Zayn laughed. 

"Yeah you say that because you already got love. I bet you don't even have to worry about flirting and dates. We singles have to start all over again, day by day. You people in relationships, all you have to do is find out what the other person hates and make sure you don't do any of it, so you don't end up like us, alone during Christmas time." Niall analysed and Harry laughed. He and Louis did seem like they have the perfect relationship, but it's not always like that. 

"Table 10 just asked for yet another piece of Blueberry cheesecake. It's like they plan to stay here for the rest of the day!" Louis complained and Niall went to grab a piece that was already cut from the fridge. Louis blew a kiss towards Harry before going back to that table. Harry knew why the people at table 10 were still in the restaurant. 

One of the guys, the blonde one, was interested on Louis. He always comes by and orders the same cheesecake. Harry pretends like he doesn't pay attention, because Louis seems unaware of that guy's intentions. "Doesn't Louis realise that is not the first time that guys has been here?" Niall asked, speaking out Harry's thoughts. 

"Maybe he just doesn't remember. He is always waiting thousands of people every year, that he forgets some of the people that show up." Harry said defending Louis, although he wished Louis would ask someone else to serve that table. 

"Anyways, I need to go back to the office in a couple of minutes. We have a new artist come by and Leona wants me to be present." Zayn explained looking at his watch. 

"First name basis?" Niall asked intrigued.

"She is my boss, nothing more." Zayn said and went back to the table to get his scarf. 

"I will pick you up at 7, alright?" Perrie said grabbing Zayn's wrist. He couldn't take his eyes off her hand holding him still. 

"Yeah, cool." Zayn replied and left the restaurant. 

"Yes! All my problems have been solved." Perrie screamed and threw her hands up in the air. Then she checked her watch and realised she is late for her shift at the supermarket. "Shoot, I gotta go. Jesy, I will call you later about what I can bring!" She screamed and left in a rush, giving Louis a hug, before exiting the café. 

"Well, Mike will be here at any moment, and I need to head home to go shopping afterwards." Harry said locking the cash register and putting the key on his pocket. Louis walked over the counter and sat down on one of the stools. 

"What time is dinner?" Louis asked and Harry grabbed his coat and checked his phone.

"At 6, like always Lou. I gotta go." Harry said giving Louis a rushed kiss on the lips and waved goodbye to his friends and left, leaving Louis confused. 

"Did I do something wrong?" He asked. 

"Well would you look at the time. I gotta go meet Jordan." Leigh said and Niall stared at her. He thought by now she was done with Jordan.

"You two going out?" Niall asked and Leigh nodded. Sometimes she wished he told her to not go and stay with him, but she knew Niall would never. "Nice, have fun." He said and Leigh rolled her eyes and left angry. 

"I will be going too. Liam, will you give me a ride? I need to be somewhere quick." Jesy asked and Liam stood up grabbing their coats. 

"Bye guys!" Liam and Jesy said leaving. Jade stood up as well and went over the counter.

"Well, if I were you, I would bake Harry's favorite pastry treat and bring it home for desert. Maybe then you will know what is wrong." Jade suggest and gave Louis a kiss on the cheek before heading out.

Zayn was going up the stairs, towards Leona's office. She asked him to go over the bank to get some money. Today was the day he was going to ask her to record one of his songs, and he was completly nervous. He was scared she was going to say no. He arrived at her office and exhaled a couple of times, before knocking on the door. 

"Come in." He heard Leona say and walked inside the room. He noticed four young girls, probably 18 sitting in front of Leona, with a bunch of papers. "Zayn, I'm glad you are here. Meet The Lost Girls, Cassandra, Veronica and Heather. We are signing with them today."

Zayn gave them an awkward smile and waved, which the girls did not know how to respond, but to greet him vaguely. "Nice to meet you all." He finally said. 

"Girls, why don't you go down stairs and when Lucy from the reception calls you, get ready to move to the recording studio 7." Leona explained and the girls started screaming with excitement. They left the room and Leona couldn't stop smiling. "Isn't it great? Seeing them finally achieving their dreams?"

"The best. Leona I came here to ask you a favor." Zayn said sitting down.

"What is it?" Leona asked looking through the papers on her desk.

"I was wondering if I could record a song today. Or just half a song? I have been writing for a really long time and there is a song that I have been struggling with for over a year and I wanted to know if I could record the ones I just finish. I saw that studio 14 was empty, and I know my way around-" He couldn't finish, because Leona shushed him.

"Zayn. How many times have I told you. I will only give you a chance when I know you are ready and right now you are not. Compared to your friends, you are probably the only one with a steady job and a great paycheck. You receive £1,500 per month, you have produced some great samples. I believe in you. But I also know you need more time. And when I know you will do alright, I will let you record. Ok?" Zayn breathed out slowly and stood up. 

"Yeah." He finally responded and Leona smiled at him.

"You are a good boy Zayn. Now go get me the papers about Ariana Grande, I heard she wants to record her new album here." Zayn left the room and was extremely disappointed. It's like nothing was working out this Christmas holiday. But at least he had the date with Perrie to cheer him up.
