The Chevanoires is a family with a long history. They are what you called an ideal family blessed with wealth and the fondness of their people. Some say that they are a family that know nothing but happiness and they only walk on a flowery path without any thorns. The head of the family, Duke Ramielus Chevanoire, is a rightreous man with no flaw and of course it's the same case with his wife, Duchess Alyssa Chevanoire, she is the Precious Diamond of High Society that has many followers.
But unfortunately, after seven years of marriage the Gods have not blessed them with any child yet. So they took the only way possible, adopt a child and make him a Chevanoires. However, they didn't want this event to tarnish their name. Thus, they prepare a plan by held the duchess captive inside their estate and restricting any visitors for 9 months. To convice the people, they spread a rumors that the duchess are bedridden due to her pregnancy, as it is known that the duchess has a weak body. Fortunately, the nobles believe it and shower her with a gift of congratulations for her pregnancy and wishing her to get well really soon.
At last, 9 months has passed and they are already got their hand on a baby that really convincing to be their real son. They named him Lazelus Noah Chevanoire.
Lazelus has a happy childhood as he is loved by his parents very much. He got an education to be the next duke and of course swordsmanship also included for the Chevanoires are the leader of the Black Jackals Knight of the Qallivant Empire. Lazelus excels at all of his education from an early age and for that he got a nickname Man of Many Talents.
When Lazel was 5 years old, the duchess was blessed with a daughter of their own. They named her Liezela Viole Chevanoire. Lazel was not happy with that fact as it's mean his parent would cherised their daughter more than the adoptive child. But his thoughts was proven wrong for the duke and the duchess loves him even more than before their daughter was born. At the moment he saw her, he vow to himself that he would do anything in the world to protect her even if it's means he should gave up his life.
Twelve years has passed, a thorn showed up on their flowery path. The duke died on a carriage accident on his way back from a foreign country. From this event, the duchess was taking care not only the household affairs but also the outside affairs until Lazel could take over the title when he is 18.
One year later, Lazel inherit the Duke of Chevanoire title and got engage with Marquis Karlheinz daughter, Francey Lea Karlheinz.
After Liezel made her debut in the society at 15 years old an engagement proposal came from the imperial palace. It is from the second prince, Nikolai Louis Cassivell. The duchess felt it is still too early for her daughter to be engage with anyone, but nothing can be done for it is an engagement proposal from the royal family. So with an unwilling heart they accepted it. From the day of the engagement, the Chevanoires enter the second prince fraction. Not long after that, Nikolai summon Lazel to the imperial palace.
