Chapter Seven, Tormented Feelings
Aurora was pacing around in her bedroom running her hands through her hair. She was now six months pregnant and she just realised she was starting to get feelings for Charlie. Charlie of all people? There was nothing wrong with him personally it was just he was Fred's brother and she knew what some people in particular: Molly and Ginny would say. They would say it wasn't fair to Fred and it was too early. How could she do this to him? They already questioned her feelings for Fred and whether Amaya was his, she didn't to add their spiel.
And they were right. But no matter how hard she tried to suppress her feelings they were there. He has been so supportive towards her these last few months while she dealt with her grief and the mixed feelings of carrying Fred's baby. He had even rushed back to Grimmauld when she was finding out the gender of her baby leaving George to deal with a busy shop alone for that moment. But on the other hand she didn't know if she was seeing things that weren't there.
If her grief was making her cling to him to anyone who treated her in any resemblance to how Fred did? No matter who small. And she felt even worse for doing that. She knew her family had noticed her change in mood the last few weeks and didn't believe her when she told them nothing was wrong. They would soon come to her to find out the truth sooner rather than later and she didn't know how to tell them or if she even should and just keep it to herself. She didn't want her family especially her dad to treat her differently that would break her completely. They were all that was holding her together.
If her dad, Remus and Dora turned from her she didn't know what she'd do. It would completely destroy her if the only family she had left turned from her. And what about George? She didn't dare to think on what he would say. Now that she had developed or starting to develop some feelings for his second eldest brother. George is like her brother, her best friend. They've always been closer than what she and Ron ever were especially after the whole Goblet of Fire incident. Even if Ron believed differently.
And her daughter. If for whatever reason she did get with Charlie or anyone else for that matter she'd make sure that her daughter knew who her father was. She'd tell her stories about her dad, and make sure Amaya knew what her dad looked like. That he was a war hero. She would not under any circumstances let her daughter grow up the way she had wondering if her parents loved her, what they looked like, who they were? No, her daughter would grow up knowing exactly who Frederic Gideon Weasley was and that he would have loved her with every fibre of his body. And no one would ever replace him as her father.
No one could replace him as her True Love either. But does that mean she would be unable to love again? She knows even though she is developing feelings for Charlie they wouldn't be as strong as they were, are for Fred. But that doesn't mean she didn't care for him because she did and that's what was stressing her out greatly. Aurora pushed her face into the pillow she was squeezing the life out of letting out an aggravated sigh before chucking the pillow back onto her bed. Maybe she was overthinking everything and should just talk to Dora, she was best friends with Charlie in school. Damn the Potter curse as dad calls it for falling for redheads.
Aurora jumped out of her skin when a knock on the door brought her out of her inner torment. "Pup are you okay?" Sirius asked concerned.
"Yeah I'm fine dad I'll be down in a minute." Aurora cringed she didn't even sound convincing enough to believe her own words let alone convince her dad. There was silence for a rather tense awkward moment before her dad's voice came through the door again. "You know if there's something bothering you Rory you can always talk to me. You know that right?" Her dad asked.
"I know daddy. Thank you, I love you." Aurora called back trying to sound more convincing.
"Alright then. I'll see you downstairs. I love you too Pup." Sirius said as the sounds of his feet made there way down the hall and down the stairs. She really wished she was confident enough to tell her family how she was feeling but she couldn't take the risk they'd leave her it wasn't worth it. For now she would do nothing. And just hope for the best.
