Hi guys! I don't know if anyone is still reading this, but I felt inspired today, so I decided to post a new chapter. :)
I hope you'll like it! <3
———————————Leonhard sat on the swing. To anyone who looked at him from afar, he must have seemed odd. Perhaps even out of place... It wasn't often that the Prince was found without his brothers, and especially not without his precious sachertorte to gobble up.
Not that he paid much attention... The Prince looked so far lost in his own thoughts, staring at the white lily which he carefully held in one hand— that when a sudden whirl of wind blew his hair across his face, he did not seem to notice. Or maybe he simply didn't care.
At the same time, Heine was taking a stroll around the garden. A beautiful hue of orange radiated off of the sky, illuminating light onto the water fountains where Heine stood. It was almost sunset. Such a peaceful moment. Listening to the sound of water— and nothing else. The little tutor thought a view as such would be most astonishing to gaze at before the next lessons he had to teach.
Walking in small, light steps, with his hat in his hands, rather than how he always wore it, Heine breathed in as much fresh air as he could get.
Then, he spotted the fourth Prince. His eyes widened. He seemed way too peaceful and it almost felt eerie. Heine rubbed his eyes, thinking it might just be a hallucination, perhaps from overworking himself, but apparently that wasn't the case...
Without making much noise, he approached his student, trying to see what had happened.
''Good afternoon, Prince Leonhard.''
The blond inclined his head, though no reply left his mouth. After catching a glance of the dreaded red hair, Leonhard blinked, snapping out of his dreamy daze, and with panicked movements threw the flower away, as if he were ashamed to have been caught holding it.
Heine raised a skeptical brow, though he didn't push the matter any further.
"W-What are you looking at?!" The prince looked away, chin raised high.
"Oh, nothing. I was just enjoying the view. I thought your highness might like some company."
Leonhard crossed his arms across his chest, eyes narrowed at his teacher. "Oh, whatever..."
Silence fell upon them. It was comfortable at first, but Leonhard's constant fidgeting made it a little hard to enjoy. He would bite his nails— and give Heine these hostile glares for no reason— and something seriously seemed to be on his mind.
"Say, Prince," Heine began, hoping to have the prince cooperate and voice his troubles without causing a tantrum. "Has something been troubling you?"
"N-no! I'm perfectly fine."
How very believable... "You do realize, your highness, that talking to someone about what's bothering you might help you come to a solution?"
The Prince didn't reply. Heine had to push further... Pinching the bridge of his nose, he continued.
"Does this problem involve your most recent quiz results, by any chance?" The tutor stepped closer to Leonhard, catching his gaze with a gentle one of his own.
"Huh? No!! Don't mention those!" He raised his voice, blood rushing to his pale cheeks. An impulse told him to jump up to his feet, get ready and run away, but an old promise he made to Heine prevented him from doing so. "I... Oh, fine! I've just been thinking..."
A glint of mischief went through the tutor's eyes. "So his highness is capable of doing that?" He didn't mean it in a bad way, of course, but the opportunity was just too good to let go.
