hiii omg i've had this concept for a while and i hope i do it justice (:

also yeah that's kinda how i imagine Yoshiko

- ☼ -

Yoshi was fully prepared to shoot herself, in the foot or face, she really didn't have a preference. All she wanted was to escape this godforsaken family reunion that her mother pressured her to go in so she could show off her precious son's glowing grade sheet, only to be shown up by her stepsister.

There was no way that Yoshi was going to survive this shitty event with all of her remaining brain cells intact, not that she was expecting that to be the case. She was perched in the corner of her grandparents shitty living room on an uncomfortable loveseat, with a mug of tea heating her palms up in their heating free building. Besides, maybe if she was lucky, the mug could give her hands third-degree burns and she could get the fuck out.

Staring around the awfully beige and brown room, Yoshi found her detesting her family more and more. They were so obnoxious and stuck in their ways; constantly striving to out-do each other in futile attempts that would never last. It made her sick. what was the point of your only fuel driving you anywhere being validation from people you despised?

Hearing the old sofa next to her squeak with weight, she glanced over to see her favourite cousin. The only member of her family who had a firm 'I don't give a flying fuck' attitude. Yoshi admired him, to put it bluntly. Allowing herself the first grin of the day, she turned to him, giving her undivided attention. "Hey." she took a sip of her tea before continuing, "how've you been?"

Giving her a once over, Eiichi's scowl didn't drop or falter for a millisecond. "Yoshi, I swear to God, if you actually care about that you will find yourself alone in a second."

Yoshi rolled her eyes with a laugh at how well Eiichi read her. "Food?"

Eiichi let out a wide grin at the blessed word. "See, this is why you're my favourite."

Standing up, Yoshi made a beeline for her grandmother with the mug of tea still cradled in her palms. Leaning down and placing a kiss on her grandmother's cheek, Yoshi forced a soft smile shroud her face, "Eiichi and I are going to head out. Thanks for having us grams."

Scowling at her granddaughter, Yoshi's grandmother refused to say goodbye to the pair - not that Eiichi cared. "Put your mug in the sink." was all 'grams' replied with before turning back to Yoshi's aunt.

Letting out a soft sigh, Yoshi walked into the open plan kitchen with Eiichi on her heels. Putting her mug in the olive sink, Yoshi muttered under her breath, allowing her smile to drop completely. "Fucking bitch."

Eiichi barked out a loud laugh at this. "I'm honestly surprised you even try with them anymore."

Rolling her eyes, she set the clean but wet mug down to dry and span round to see her best friend and cousin. "So, we going to play?"

He scowled and pouted, "I knew that you were just using my love of food for your own gain!"

Shooting him a smirk, Yoshi quickly retorted with the first thing that came to her mind, "If you knew, why'd you bite?"
