Chapter 1: The Day Before The Wateland

'March 2, 2250, it is a warm day. Everyone is doing what they had to do. There are people at work, school, or in the streets begging for money. At it turns to lunch, Richard Walker, walks into a local fast food restaurant . He didnt go to school today, as he is the kind of kid to skipped school. As he waits for his food and drink, he gets interrupted by a breaking news report. The newscaster states that 'Be warned. The North Koreans are trying to bomb America. If I were you I would start bulding bomb shelters. My name is Louis and I'll see you later.'

Richard gets worried, he wonders what is family is thinking right now. Does his parents know? He doesn't even know. When the food gets served to him he takes it and runs to his house as fast as he can. As he enters the house he hears a noise coming from the living room. It was just a T.V. On the T.V. there was an ad for a bombshelter where everyone could live in. Richard tries to findhis parents to tell them that they could live in a bomb shelter. As he reaches upstairs he sees that is Mother is dead. He doesnt know what to do. Richard looks around for his dad and realizes that he has work today. His dad is a scientist.

After 2 minutes of being worried, he calls his dad and says that his mother died. His dad starts to get sad. His dad, Joe Walker, tells Richard to stay calm and find a bomb shelter that they could live in. He remembers that he saw the ad for a bomb shelter a while back and he calls the number.

As he dials the number he looks at his mom and sees a note. It reads 'Dear son, This will be my last time seeing you I've had problems for a while now after your younger brother was born 2 weeks ago. BYE! From your dead mom, Tasha Walker.'

He takes the note and puts it in his pocket. As he leaves the room, he thinks to him self that, he should go and tell his father what just happened. On the way to his dads laobratory,he remembers that he has to call the people who will give his family a bomb shelter. He calls it and the guy replies with "BS 214 by the staples center.".

He takes note of what the guy says. Richard enters the laboratory to see that his dad wasnt there. As he looks for his dad, he his dad sees him talking to a stranger. Probably his friend."
