The Chariot, Reversed
(get your shit together, Ethan.) Difficulty or failure coordinating different things. Lack of control in your life. Rashness and indecision. Stuck moving in circles.
You feel lost and directionless, and like you're spiraling out of control. You're at the mercy of opposing forces and you're taking everything lying down instead of making important decisions for yourself. The Chariot is telling you to rein in your impulses.
Come to terms with the fact that you can't always be control, but don't let people or life walk all over you. (and don't try and pretend you don't do this!!!) This is a wake up call - take charge and tighten some loose ends, but try not to stress over things that you can do nothing about. Focus that energy somewhere more positive.
Ethan huffs, rolling his eyes as he tucks the card back into the deck. Another coincidence that the cards made a tad bit of sense, because he still didn't believe it. He sure as hell wasn't gonna take advice from something not even sentient.
He walks downstairs, past Grayson's room where he's playing music all too loud with a roll of his eyes. Cameron left yesterday, but both of his parents are in the kitchen and he plasters on a smile for them.
Today felt off. To be fair, a lot of things felt off for Ethan lately. He spent yesterday saying goodbye to his sister and reading some of the books Christine left him (that were definitely trying to teach him lessons he didn't want to face at the moment). So now he was bored, frustrated, and looking to make lunch before finding a distraction.
He talks to his parents for a few minutes first before moving to dig through cabinets. Ethan thinks maybe he'll make a panini, but his phone buzzes in his pocket first.
Alondra: busy today?
Ethan goes to type up an answer, before another notification pops up. What, are they testing him or something? Alondra texted him first though...
Phoenix: are you busy?
Ethan: idk yet why
Phoenix: well i wanna hang out
Alondra: E
Ethan: aren't you still mad at me from the other night?
Alondra: no i was never MAD
Alondra: you were just stupid and almost got us all arrested
Alondra: but i wanna grab lunch if you're not busy rn. already in my car (not driving yet don't bitch at me), can be there in five?
Ethan: alright. see you in five.
Ethan: don't crash
Alondra: shut up
Ethan: sorry nix :(
Ethan: grabbing lunch with lonnie rn
Ethan: wanna hangout later though? i'll come over after
Phoenix: okay.
He knows she's slightly offended he chose Alondra, but he also knows she'll get over it.
When they got home after outrunning the cops, Alondra was, unsurprisingly, pissed at him. Though they were all pretty exhausted, collapsing into their makeshift beds in the living room. She didn't really dig into him until the morning after.
Phoenix and Grayson were still tired, and annoyed, but they let her yell at him. Ethan still didn't really get that it wasn't the actual act of graffiti they cared much about, but they gave up trying to convince him.
Since yesterday was Cameron's last day in Jersey, they left early in the morning and the twins spent the day with their family. Ethan didn't really make plans to do anything today either, but he was bored and wanted to do something, so hanging out with Alondra-and later Phoenix-was a good choice.
